"Question about the pain "
Posted by soopphhiiee 12 October  at  22:59

Ok so its going to hurt....I have accepted that. And I know it is different for each individual but was the pain like for you?

Is there any illness etc you can compare it to?
How long did your pain last etc?

I'm only 18 so no doubt have a very low pain threshold...even if the woman who does my waxes says otherwise

I'd just like to know everyones personal experiences on the pain front.

Also, how effective is the medication thet give you? I.e. sometimes you take a strong pain killer and it still doesn't get rid of your headache!!

Thanks for yoor help

Hi hunny, Leading up to my op I was also scared about being in pain after my op, however I was worrying about nothing, as I had no pain what so ever. Obviously everyone is different so it all depends on the individual, also if you are having overs or unders, (unders tend to be more painful). I agree with the ladies below as the only thing I too can compare it with is like going to the gym, and doing a really hard work out, then having that aching feeling. My boobs did not hurt at all, it was my back and stomach. Good Luck x

but i never had any pain.... im nearly 5 weeks post op.

i woke up and felt fine, i never had any extra pain relief.. my chest just felt heavy, they most uncomftable part for me was the skin inbetween the 2 boobs as it was stretched it felt tight,

i used to get shooting pains and tingling, but it didnt hurt just felt funny.. just like when milk is being produced after having a baby, but as you havnt children its hard to describe..

as long as you rest and def dont over do it the first week you will be fine..
everyone recovers different, and everyone's pain barrier is also different, i have a high pain barrier, so to me it might not have hurt but to others it may..

im back to the gym 4 times a week now, weight etc and my boobs are fine..

hope this helps..

I am still recovering from my BA, I had mine last tuesday 7th so it all fresh in my mind.

I had 390cc overs, and just as the others have said its not really painful its just uncomfortable, your boobs feel numb and tingley which is a really odd sensation, for some reason my back hurt more than my chest did for the first day, I never took codine only took paracetamol for the first 3 days, didn't need anything after that.

The time it hurts most for me is first thing in the morning or when one of my children knock my scars, the only thing i can discribe the pain to is breast milk coming in but you have no kids so thats useless to you!!
The hard part for me is sleeping on my back, as i always sleep on my front, although i slept on my side last night.

I also took arnica to and have no bruising whatsoever.

I'm on day 6 post op now and feel excellent, driving, shopping, cleaning, walking, so all back to normal pretty much.

And my boobies look fantastic well worth feeling uncomforable for a week.

Hope this helps

I can only tell you from my own point of view ...... but here goes .....................

It's a bit like when you've done a really good work out and a couple of days later, you really feel the effects ....... To be honest ... like someone else has already said, it's more uncomfortable than painful ........ I had partials too. I'd say the first four days were the worst ..... and after that, things gradually got better ....... each day got that little bit easier ...... I hardly took any of my painkillers .... just for the first 2 to 3 days if I remember rightly ............. Apparently, so I'm told .... overs is alot less invasive sugery, so alot less painful. The result you will get will be so worth it ...... I'd do it all over again if I had to ........ You will be fine xx

Its not painful just a bit uncomfortable, just like when you have a period with any achy back.
I have had 2 kids naturally and it was nothing compared to child birth, you will be fine and they give you paracetamol/codeine etc anyway and they work really well. You will be on a high once you have had it done that you have boobs and won't stop looking at them that takes any doubts away. Its the best thing I have ever bought for myself and it gives you so much confidence just wish I'd had it done sooner instead of worrying like you. Just one thing though, you are only 18 are you sure you won't develop anymore? Have you seen your GP?

my GP no because we have a funny system at our doctors where you don't have your own doctor!

Saw the nurse I see a lot though and she was quite excited for me.

My sister was the same as me at my age, and although he boobs grew slightly when she had kids as soon as she lost her baby weight they shrunk even more.

My surgeon said plenty of people have it my age and although I might develop more there is only like 1% chance I will develop an extra cup size. My look is, I'm 18, no real commitments (work is sorted), and I can afford to pay back the 4 grand in a year as I don't have many other expensives, so I feel that it is the best time.

Thank you for everybodys comments. I over did it at the gym last week and the nurse I saw said I'd almost torn my muscle, which was slightly painful but more uncomfortable (i.e. not being able to move etc) so I am guessing it will be something along the lines of that!!

xx
"Good luck then"

Yeah definately go for it then if you've got no chance of any more development. I knew for a few years that I really wanted it done and am so please now. I have just given away all my old bra's and that feels good, bye bye gel bra's!
