I think I have flu/a cold. Im 9 days post op, and I was just wondering if this can effect healing or anything? I've got my first check this Thursday, is it worth mentioning it?

As I said lol I guess I'm just worrying as it's still early stages of healing... I'd just hate to have anything potentially harm my lovely new boobs lol!

I had my re-op 4 weeks ago and i felt absolutely terrible, flu-ey etc my immune system is very iffy the best of times due to having a Thyroid Condition, and the state i was in after my op (Surgeon putting the wrong implants in the wrong boobies) and all the crying, probably didnt help me, but i can honestly say all has been well since,, and my healing has been fine,,,,,
So id say Yep you'll be absolutely fine hun, just make sure you take good care of yourself!!!! Take it Easy!!!! and Happy Healing!!!!

Hi hun,

I had flu a week after my op, and no, it did not affect my healing. The reason why you got it is because your imune system is now weakened, and you are succeptible to germs. Take it easy and look after yourself, and make sure you take Paracetamol only, as other painkillers can cause bleeding.

Thanks for the advise, I'm trying not to take any tablets atall lol, as I've heard that although they relieve symtoms, apparently tablets can suppress a cold/flu and it takes longer for it to go away lol. I am however sing Vicks First Defence spray as I normally do and tht seems to be doing the trick!

no,i don't think that you having flu/cold will effect the healing of your new precious,bless you-if anything it might help as it will probably make sure that you're not doing too much too early! Xx
