Pip rupture....compensation advice

Hi

My implants ruptured recently and I have only had them for 3 years. They are PIP. Any ideas on whether compensation can be claimed?

Any advice also?

Thanks!

BB

Sorry to hear this

This type of implant is known to rupture and they are no longer used in the USA, heres the MHRA report on them recommending they not be used

http://www.mhra.gov.uk/Publications/Safetywarnings/MedicalDeviceAlerts/Devicealerts/CON008915

If your implants have ruptured report it to the MHRA online, they can investigate it and possibly get you some recompense

You can also have a read of this site, has useful information www.harleystreetsecrets.com

good luck hun!! xx

Hey

Just thought id say 'although I may be wrong' PIP no longer make these they hav been replaced or an (alternative used not sure which one) such as the PIP Cohesive silicone gel. These are the ones currently being used so that document does not apply to women currently having BA using PIP implants, well this is my understanding anyway. I asked Harley medical about PIP implants and although I have heard of cases where these hav not so much leaked, but disintergrated and migrated to the lymph nodes aswell its less likely. I may hav made no sense and jus confused the situation xx

Thanks

Thank you so much for that- i will def investigate. Much appreciated thank you very much! x

Who are the manufacturers ?

If it is Cloverleaf they will send you a pot and this will be analised to find out the cause of the rupture. They may cover the cost of new implants it is worth a try.

Cloverleafs

I had Cloverleafs which had ruptured within a few years. Am not aware that you are able to claim any compensation but do tell me more!

Amandaxxx

Phone them !

If they have ruptured within a short period they will ask for the surgeon to send them on for investigation when they are removed.
They don't advertise any compensation nobody does but I know they will look into it as I spoke to them when I had a suspected rupture. If you no longer have the implants though I am afraid I don't think you'll have any luck.

Nope

u cant claim compensation for rupture as you go into having a ba knowing that rupture is possible

Leaking silicon

I found a lump under my arm and after many tests mri scans etc i found out that i have silicon in a lymph gland! So i am having them removed next week. Right pain as i have to go through the op and recovery after only 3 years of having them. I am dreading it!

Leaking silicon ?

Hi
Who did u go and have the BA with?
How has this happened as i was told that of the implant had burst for any reason nothing would leak out they described it to be like a jelly baby that it was just solid and wouldnt leak a thing

Op

I had mine with a surgeon from Transform. I went directly to him which saved me about £1000 after being recommended by a friend. He is called Mr Shiva Singh and has now left Transform. The rupture is not his fault which I understand but I am still being charged £1950 for another Ba. Is this normal?
