Got my new boobies! here's my long story!
I was in the Highgate on Friday 3rd and was staying in the Beaconsfield hotel in Haringey. That was the cheapest one I found in the area but don't go there, its not worth it, its gross!! My appointment was 7.30 am, I got an ok sleep but my boyfriend kept getting up to check the time! I wasn't very nervous at first, it still didn't seem like it was really happening. I filled in a form and was shown to my room, then we were left alone so I was watching tv to take my mind off things. Over the next couple of hours a nurse came in to check my blood pressure, weight, height etc, the anaesthetist came to talk to me about what would happen, and Mr Singh came in to run through things again and draw on me! He's so lovely he really made me feel at ease, he even spoke Welsh to me! I was waiting in the room for a few hours, then a nurse came & gave me my sexy stockings, gown & paper pants to put on! I couldn't work out what way the pants go on- don't think it matters tho I ended up sleeping while I was waiting to be taken to theatre, I was more hungry than scared! My tummy was rumbling, just wanted to get it over with. The nurse came and walked me to theatre at about 2 o clock- had to retie my gown for me so I didn't show everyone my bum on the way! It was there I started to get scared. Everyone was really nice but it was the first time in a room full of medical equipment and it was happening really fast. I had a cannula put in my hand and some antibiotics put in. That hurt a bit, but I am a wuss! Then the anaesthetic went in & I was out really fast, could feel it going up my arm & feeling all tingly and woozy. Next thing I was waking up in recovery and being wheeled back to my room. I wasn't in pain just really sleepy. I told my boyfriend I was alright & dozed for an hour or so. Mr Singh and the anaesthetist came to see me before they went home to check I was ok, & Mr Singh gave me his card in case I needed to speak to him, what a sweetie! A nurse ordered me tea & toast, was so good after going without food for so long!! Was a bit awkward getting up for the loo the first time- not painful but felt tight in my chest, and was a bit dizzy. I rested for a bit more, with nurses coming to check my blood pressure every so often, and had lovely salmon for dinner! I was expecting to be a DD/E (had 505cc overs) and had sports bras in those sizes but they were too big Had to leave braless, just all strapped up! And sent my bf to Sainsburys to get me a D later on I did have a peek & loved how they look, just got a bit sad when I tried the bras. They said they like to keep people in for about 4 hours after the op, I went home at about 7 o clock. Had a letter to give to my GP with the medication they'd given me and a discharge note for reception but there was noone there, was a bit weird! The taxi ride back to the hotel was a but uncomfortable but not too bad. I was warned by someone in work I'd be in agony the next day, coming back to Wales on the Megabus, but I haven't been in much pain at all. Its a little sore under my right boob, and they're sore for a little while when I stand up or sit down, but I wouldn't call it painful. I was preparing myself for it to be hellish, but I'd say the most painful part was having the cannula put in luckily!
