Mybreast.. a bit disappointed

I had a consultation at the begining of the week with Adam Topping, via MyBreast. Adam was lovely, informative, clear and very easy to talk to. he wasnt afriad to get up close and show me and my husband what his thoughts were, whereas the previous surgeon didnt...

However yesterday I received the quote and was taken aback. £5800 for ba and uplift and £6800 for a full tummy tuck with assisted lipo.. oh sorry and as a gesture 7.5% off of ba ONLY for combining procedures..

Now my first consultation was with Nick Parkhouse who is in Tatlers top ten surgeons in the world.. his work is extensive and I think he write for a big publication. his qoute which was first so not attempting to compete at that time was £2k LESS and he took approx £2400 off for combining treatments as clearly it does not cost that much more for them as your already laying there, equipment is there, anaesthetist is ther etc...

I am really gutted as I actually preferred Adam as he was more down to earth and listened to what I wanted rather than go off on his own ideas

Can anyone shed any light on their pricing, I mean its hardly competitive when they are £2k more expensive than one of the best surgeons in the world!!

Tell them your other quote

Hiya, when i was looking into getting ba and uplift and tummy tuck, hmg quoted me almost #11k, i shopped around and went back to them with other quotes and explained that i wanted to use them but could not ignore the price difference, they got back to me within a couple of days with a quote of #9k, which i accepted. Although a week before the surgery I totally chickened out and cancelled, luckily I only lost the deposit. My point being, if you dont ask you dont get! Its worth a try. Good luck!

Their admin are pants!

I have just paid a deposit for a BA which I'm having on the 27th July BUT ONLY because I really liked the surgeon. If I was just going on the PC, I wouldn't have bothered as they are totally crap! I didn't receive any paper work re booking, aftercare policy etc or had not had any calls from my so called designated PC. I am keeping my eye fixed on the surgeon as he's on one I'm really selecting.

Erik Scholten, my PS, works privately at 2 other hospitals which I made enquiries at. I could have saved myself about £600 but if you go direct with the surgeon, you only get 1 years aftercare, whereas going through a company they can offer you more.

Don't be fooled by MYbreast as other companies have BAAPS registered surgeon and use Inspira implants, but MYBreast use this as a selling technique to charge the most as they think they offer more. MYA also offer 5 years aftercare, inspira implants and some BAAPS registered surgeons, you just need to ask for their CVs to select carefully.

Sorry Lucy this doesn't help with your pricing but totally sympathise with prices etc as I've found they are the most expensive.

MYbreast got really shitty with me once I told them I had had a look around and compared prices elsewhere. They said that is Mr Scholten saw me in any other clinic, he would lose his contract with them!!!

Needless to say, I think the admin staff are shite, but its the surgeon I want.

I agree....the admin are pants!

I ended up going through MYA, but while I was deciding on who to go with, I requested a call back from Mybreast.
I read their website and have to say I was impressed with their aftercare and implants.
After around 5 days they got back to me, it was a very loud east london sounding chav on the other end of the phone.
She rambled on for about 30 minutes, without me managing to get a word in edge ways!
She told me how I'd need to somehow have to book time off work to see the surgeon as the don't do consultations on the weekend, as the surgeons are "professional" and deserve a weekend off.
She gave me so many figures and strange terms that my head was spinning.
She gave me 3 different date, about 5 different times, 2 surgeons names. I just couldn't wait to get off the phone.

She said not to worry about not catching everything she was saying (thank god, as I had zoned out hours ago) as she was going to write it all in a letter and post it too me.
Well, i still haven't received that letter, and needless to say I did not try to follow up with the company again.
They scared me.
I DO however recieve alot of junk mail from them. About open evenings and special offers.
Which annoys the hell out of me.

Not my sort of company at all.

Hi sweetheart

I had a ba two years ago through a private surgeon £5100.00. my friend is going to the same guy and hers is £4100 as she is using a BMI hospital and not a nuffield hospital as I did. But the same guy as I recommended him! I have just had a tummy tuck although I was only in for a mini tummy tuck but practically had a full one including the muscle stitched and it cost me £2750.00 with the same surgeon but would have cost an extra £1000 to go to the nuffield. There is a reduced cost for combining operations and I'm sure it was a lot more than that! he's too dear. Try another surgeon as I don't think he is doing you any favours. Where are you?

Hiya

Hiya, klc69

I dont think its the surgeons fault as we never discussed the money side of things, i think its mybreast taking the mickey. I mean everyone is going on about the quality they offer but in reality what are they offering?? The surgeon you can go to directly and he is still BAAPS registered!! The hospital doesnt change just because you book from the.. I have not had continuity on the phone whereas if I went direct I would be dealing with his PA whom I am sure is the same person each time.. so basically it comes down to finance??? Well not being funny but there are plenty of 0% credit cards at the mo I mean I have enough credit for £10 at the moment so i really do not see what they are offering clients in return for disgustingly high prices!

I am in Surrey but am prepared to travel as far as north london and brighton the other way.. would be interested to hear more

.

Heyy, i went with Mybreast- i think they charge so high cause they are giving you quality! But in reality they dont! They havent been there for me at all, the surgeon was fab and so was the hospital and now i wish i had gone with the surgeon privately , i could of saved a lot of money too!
Im going to complain, i love my boobs etc , but their service wasnt great, soon as word of mouth spreads that they are a bit crap at customer service, theyl have to lower their prices!

Em x

I agree

its funny you should say that.. i received no brochure and have spoken to different people, not been allocated a patient advisor and had to request a brouchure after my consultation...

perhaps I should just go direct?
