Nothing mentioned to me

i am having my BA tomorrow and no one mentioned anything to me! To top it all i am on my period so thats going to be a pain.

Im not too sure about the coil, it depend wat the side effects are, and as the pill can cause blood clots more easily (or something to do with that) thats y they 'recommend' u come off it, but i wudnt worry. They told me i dont have to, it wont really affect me.

Oh no

so what happens if you have the contraceptive implant in your arm, im worried im gunna have to get it removed, well ive got my pre op on the 29th of this month (july) so ill find out some info about the contraceptives etc xx

Not a necessary

hello peeps! just to put minds at rest, i checked with Mr Singh on Monday about coming off the Pill and he said, no dont worry, its not necessary. Most of the girls dont come off he also said.

...

I didn't really want to stop taking my pill for a number of reasons, so my surgeon told me that it was fine for me to take a progestogen only pill, which doesn't contain oestrogen.

So I changed to 'Cerazette' the month before my op, but it's not really done me any favours; my periods have become extremely irregular and my skin is not as clear. I think it would have been just as easy to come off the pill altogether. Can't wait to go back to my old one

Microygen 30

hey, it was reccommended to me but to be honest i havnt. my op is on Fri so hope it doesnt matter too much but my p.s did tell me it wasnt compulsory. i know of other girls who didnt and we're fine. But if its easier enough 4u to stop and wont cause a problem then i would xxx

Mirena coil

what if you have the MIRENA, coil ? does anyone know ?

thanx

i had to double check on this as my surgeon did not mention anything about stopping the pill, and only got a call back yesterday to tell me to stop taking it, only a week before , im going to be embarrased about my op as i am now going to have my breakthrough bleeding at the time of my op

I've never heard this!

I am on the implant so mayb that is why but I've never heard of any1 stopping taking their pill before op....whats the reason 4 it?

xxx

Oh, my op is in 2 weeks and I havent been told to stop!?!?

What are the reasons for stopping anyway? I have 2 kids and don't want anymore

Argh, best call the clinic I think!

"quote"

Taking Oral contraceptive pills can increse the rick of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, it is advisable to stop taking the pill 2 week prior to surgery.

This has come from MYA patient information document.

Pill

im taking the microgynon 30 contraceptive pill and i stopped taking mine 2weeks before as that when mine finished for the month (which was good timing) but it is probs best to stop taking them about 2weeks before. and they say u can start taking it about a week after, (after you stop taking antibiotics)

Hope this helps
