What does it mean if surgeon doesnt use drains?

My surgeon has told me he will not use drains.

Has anyone had BA where surgeon has not used drains?? If so what does this mean and where does all the blood that needs to be drained out go?

Thanks girls, i wasnt too sure how that's work - makes sense they'll clean it up before closing me up!! hehe!!

My sugeon has said the same to me that as I am having partials I will not need drains (which I just took as a good thing - less pain )

I did not have drains when I had my BA 17 days ago. Some surgeons like to use them and some like not to use them. It is not a bad thing if the surgeon does not use them. I suppose they use the suction tubing before the close the breast up too clear any excess blood if they dont use drains.
