Cough and cold before surgery

Im due to have my surgery this friday and am really panicing...........ive got a cold and slight chesty cough but feel fine in myself,im worried they will postpone my op!!!!!!

any one else been in this situation??????? i hope its gone by friday..

I had the same problem but felt better on the day of my op so went ahead with it. I felt fine for 2 days after op but then cold returned with avengance. Felt so ill and coughing and sneezing when you've just had surgery to your chest is not good! It's your decision but with hindsight I wish I'd have postponed mine until I felt better as I felt it hindered my healing from my BA (felt really miserable).

It's also down to the anaesthetist as to whether he/she thinks you are fit enough to go ahead.
