Breast implant process whats next?

hi everyone ive just been the hospital and the doctor said they can give me implants as i have tubular breasts. he said i have to see the psycologist first then ive got a appointment to go back and see him on the 26th feb. i wanted to know if anyone one else has seen the psycologist, what they said, and what will happen when i go back in feb. also this is through the nhs so how long after my feb appointment will it take for the surgery, is there a long waiting list

Just a tip. The poorer the borough you live in is, the more likely you are to get the funding. Put it this way the richer boroughs are rich because they don't like to spend their money.

Hi

I had mine done on the NHS 10th September 2009, i went to see the psycologist in the summer of 2008, this is some of the things the psycologist asked, she asked about relationships, school, about your body, like how you feel about all of your body. When the report came back in 3months later, they said i would benefit from having a BA, the report went to the PS, then i had to see them 3months later, they then had to write to the PCT, there the ones that fund the operation, i had to wait for about 3-4months before the PCT wrote back, and gave the go ahead, that was March 2009. Then in July 2009, i got a call from the hospital saying they have a date for my pre assement, that involves taking blood, asking about family history etc, then my operation was 4wks later. I could have had the op before the 10th sept 2009, but i was happy with the surgen i had.

If you need to ask anything else let me know, where are you from, i live in London, don't no if it makes a diffrence on how long you would have to wait.

Thanks

hi there thanks for the reply the doctor i seen said he can help me and i would benefit from tear drop implants because of my tubular breasts but is there still a chance i wont get funded with the doctor already saying yes

Hi

The problem is its all up to the PCT, and i think it depends where you live. I say its 50/50 if the doctor and plastic surgen and the phycrasist say they think you should have it done you have a very good chance, but they have to have money.
