Fading scars???

i am 6 weeks PO this fri (woo!!!) and going bra shopping hopefully (double wooo!!!)
but how long does it take for the scars to fade?
i have been told so far not to put anything on them, but they are red and bumpy still and im getting impatient lol

i was gonna buy vitamin e oil as its supposed to be great, but then i researched it in medical journals and its been found to have no effect or to give ppl eczema and dermatitis after using!!! so theres no way im doing that!

any tips??

Taping!!

Hi!
I am approx 5 weeks post op and have been taping for 4 weeks. Surgeon recommends doing this for 3 months!! Change tapes when they start to peel off approx 7 to 10 days. The scars are amazing and healing much better than anticipated!! Apparently taping helps with reducing scaring!! Have also got bio oil which using intermittently between taping!! The skin is amazing and scars will fade for you , it is still early days so just be patient.... xx

Thanks

will ask about bio oil and see what they say

dee - its worth the wait isnt it?! shops here we come!! lol

Yip

yip sure is hunny Rgiht to the shops the minute I walk out work on Friday I SSSOOOOOO better get measured a C cup or else haha !!

Bio oil

I saw my surgeon today and he told me i could start using bio oil in a weeks time and by then I will be 2 weeks post op. Had my dressing off today and they are already just very thin red lines!!!! Jo

Me tooo

same hunny !! Also 6 week's post op on Friday!! And that's what I am doing as soon as I finish work !! Hitting the shops to get measured and buy some bra's hehe YEY !!

I'm about 18 mths post op & I actually struggle to see my scars.

I suppose everyone is different .... people heal at different rates ... but do give it ample time ..... you can't expect them to dissapear over night .... just be patient hun xx
