Nil by mouth???

Just trying to plan my trip to Elyzea in Belgium, and was wondering how much sight seeing and restauranting im going to be able to do before my op...?...Is it nil by mouth before the op?...and if so how many hours beforehand?

I was down for op just after 11am. Nothing except water (sipped in moderation) after 4am and stop the water at 9am so you should be okay the night before to enjoy the local cuisine - but you definately should lay off the vino (sorry!)

i've been told, no food 6 hours before and no drink 2 hours before xx

anaesthetic

Hi, It depends what type of anaesthetic you're having. If its a full general anaesthetic usually no food for 6 hours prior and no drinks for 2-3 hours prior.
