Depends who you go through really. I saw a few companies. 1st was HMG and saw a nurse who did measurements and tried implants in my bra. Then had further consult with surgeon after this who checked my med history then had a look and recommended implant size and let me try them in bra again. MYA saw rep 1st and arranged to see surgeon. He didn't even see me without my top on but told me what size he was prepared to use and didn't seem too bothered about checking my med history. Then went to another room to see nurse who tried some implants inside bra but they didn't actually have the size he would be using so not hugely helpful. Last 1 was through mybreast and consult was with surgeon straight away. Much preferred this as he checked my med history and suitability and told me about the risks and then measured and tried out the implant sizes he could use. He was by far the most thorough, had good credentials and I booked him the next morning which was my 1st chance to do so. When you see a surgeon (at whichever stage that is) I'd expect them to check your med history that you'll have filled out to ensure you are able to have the op, they should tell you of all the risks and then they should measure you and discuss your options (unders or overs/profile/cc size) but when doing this they should listen to what you are wanting too achieve and not just tell you what you're having (not everyone wants to go for the biggest implant they can fit). Then you should have the opportunity to try some of the implants under your clothes to see what they'd look like. When you come away you should feel confident with what you've been told and that you are getting what you want. I'd strongly recommend booking a few consults and shopping round a bit so you have a choice of surgeons to choose from. I saw 2 that were okay but wasn't overly confident in then the 3rd I knew within minutes of the consult starting that I wanted him to do my op as I trusted him completely. Nerves are inevitable when you have this procedure but I would imagine they'd have been a lot worse if I wasn't 100% I was using the right chap.
