Sleeping on your back for how many weeks post op?

Hi there,

Just wanted to ask if you had to sleep on your back for about 6 weeks after the op? I hate sleeping on my back and was wondering how long I would have to do it for....any help would be appreciated!!!

I am 12 days post op and i was told to sleep on my back for 2 weeks! Have you got a v shaped pillow? It does help.

Its day 8 after my surgery.
I have been sleeping on my side from day 3.
I had no bruising or pain whatsoever and swelling was very minimal too.
I have a very good sports bra that help a lot.
Couldn't do it without it.
Its from Debenhalms Leverl 4. Shock Absorber sports bra, £26.
I can even jump up and down in this bra as it keeps your boobies so in place it doesn't move at all. x

i was told to sleep on my back for the first two weeks. but i am two and half weeks and if i lay on my side for too long it is uncomfortable. it is to help the swelling go down and the nurse told me that you dont want to be crinkling the area where you have stitches. hope this helps. xxx
