Breast implants
Yes I went to Mr Stanek many years ago for a reduction and implants - about 10 years ago - the implant with an incision below the arm is brilliant no -one could see it unless you have your arms in the air for about three months after the surgery.
His breast surgery was great - like you I felt rushed at the time and had my doubts but that is how he is. The scars are great and other doctors have asked me who did it cos the scars are great
So I would say if you want it done yes he is probably the best
Ps Not much after care though - that's the big downfall Hope this helps

Jan stanek
I had a mini tummy tuck with Jan Stanek last Xmas. I totally understand what you are saying. He has no bed side manor which really put me off for a while. But the results were good - the scar excellent. So he is clearly a good surgeon. The nurse mentioned here though is not - Steph. Not a terribly nice person and her manor would stop me going back there. I had a problem with my medication - my heart was racing - within 48 hours of surgery and it was quite frightening. I called her (as she said i could do at any time) and she then had a really horrid go at me for calling on a Friday afternoon during their Xmas party - i think it was around 3pm. I was so upset to have been spoken to like that, also when pretty vunerable and recovering. Post op when in hospital she also talked more about herself than she asked after me!!! Not good. I should have guessed! The other main nurse there though is very lovely. But i would have second thoughts about going back there because of the head nurse.

Right surgeon
I think your surgeon is the most important decision when having a ba. And you have to trust and have confidence in them and that they understand what you want. You may not want the biggest that will fit in you and prefer anatomical implants to standard etc.
Pre op I saw 3 surgeons. 1st didn't even see without my top off and told me what max size he could use (how?). The next measured me and told me what he planned to do (not asking what I wanted). The 3rd initially checked my med hist and ensured I was suitable candidate for op. When he'd confirmed that I was he discussed what I was hoping to achieve and made sure I was aware of the risks. He then proceeded to measure and establish what implants would be suitable for me. I was with him for nearly an hour. I think you can guess who I chose!
If you have any doubts I'd say keep looking as he's not the right man for the job...

My experience with jan stanek
I am 1 week post op after having BA with Mr Stanek. I too felt a bit unsure after my first consultation as he seemed a bit aloof and somewhat condesending. I didn't feel rushed but did feel a bit silly at times (for want of a better word) when i asked about trying different sizes etc to see how they would look. He said that he didn't do that and would decide once in surgery but did ask what size I thought I would like to be. After leaving that first consultation I did feel confused as it wasn't what i had expected. However once I had talked it over with my husband I decided I hadn't chosen Mr Stanek for his good bed side manner but instead for his excellent reputation in surgery. I decided to book a 2nd consultation just to iron out a few worries and this time it seemed to go much better. On the day of surgery Mr Stanek was very pleasant and said that he agreed with the size that I wanted to be. Surgery seemed to go smoothly and at this point I can only say that I am thrilled with the outcome. Obviously this is early days fo me but I feel Mr Stanek did listen to how I wanted my breasts to look and did make me the exact size I wanted to be. My conclusion at this point is would you rather have a surgeon who says all the right things but may not be doing the best for you or a surgeon who may not have the best bed side mannor but is completely competent and experienced. I'll keep u posted about the follow up but so far so good. Hope this helps

Breast implants
Hi,
I have also just recently had a consultation with Mr Stanek and would echo all that you said regarding your first consultation. Nevertheless, i am hoping to proceed with my surgery at the end of August so it would be great if you could update me on your recovery, and how happy you are with the results etc. Look forward to hearing from you.

Mr jan stanek over rated, rip off
I recently had a consultation with mr j stanek in london and have to say was far from impressed. During my consultation, I was with him for less than 10 minutes and felt completely rushed even though it he charged me £125's! more expensive than any other surgeon in the uk. It was not enough time to talk over all the benefits or risks of the operation which was in my case a breast uplift and definetly not enough time for me to be able to make a solid judgement about whether i wanted him to perform surgery on me. When i asked to some see before and after pictures of the operations he had performed he directed me to his nurses office where she sat me down and showed me just 2 pictures! In view of the fact that jan stanek is supposed to be one of the uk's top surgeons i was shocked by how few a number of cases they had to show me. The idea of before and after pictures in my view is to have a large enough range of different patients one of which would hopefully have been at the same starting point as yourself so you can get an idea about how your breasts will look after the operation. - however, I was definetly not able to do this.
The second thing which shocked me was when asking the nurse about what would happen if anything were to go wrong i.e infection, displeasing aesthetic result i.e assymetry or boxy shaped breasts which can be common in this operation - she simply said 'oh let's not think about that' which did not reassure me as to how they would behave if anything were to go wrong! She did say however (when i pressed her anout it) that although mr stanek would do any touch ups for free i would still be liable to pay the anesthetics fee and the cost of hiring out the surgery room - which would be around £2000-3000's! No wonder she told me not to worry about it!
Needless to say i still had some questions about the surgery after the consultation so when the nurse said i could email her i thought well at least i can get my questions answered via email.. I was wrong... after 3 emails to steph@janstanek.com to which she said i could email anytime before during and after surgery i didn't get a single reply which coming from the nurse who would be your after care assistant is definelty not reassuring.
So, needless to say i have decided to carry on searching for now, although jan stanek seems to have a very good reputation i do wonder whether it may be the case that he actually just has an excellent PR team.... ??? I would be interested to hear other peoples experience with this surgeon or any other surgeons (good and bad).

Mr stanek and transform
Hi, My Mum lives in Portugal but came to England especially to have Dr Stanek do her breast surgery. She had him recommended to her by a few friends, and was absolutely overjoyed with the results. She also had to have a mamogram a couple of years later and was told by the doctor that did it that it was one of the best BA's he had ever seen!! Yes she also had it through the armpit, but it just looks like a normal crease, honestly you cant see a thing!! The only thing with having it through the armpit is that it is much more painful. I had my BA done with Mr Khan from Transform 6 weeks ago, unfortunately i just couldnt afford Dr Stanek to do it. But i have found Transform and Mr Khan to be fantastic. They do look after you very well. And the aftercare so far has been excellent! If i have had any worries/concerns i have had no problem obtaining advice from them however big or small! I would recommend anyone to try them. But the decision ultimately has to be your own. At the end of the day things can go wrong with WHOEVER you have to do your op, but that is the risk you take with any type of cosmetic surgery.

Jan stanek
Hi, someone I know recently had a lot of work done by Jan Stanek (boobs, lipo, tummy tuck etc) she's very pleased with his work. He has quite a name for himself thanks to programmes like Ten Years Younger where he does the surgery. I had a consultation with Mybreast this week and the surgeon didn't especially want to talk size, he didn't have anything for me to try either. Next week I'm seeing Mr Singh and Mr Meleagros, both from Transform. I am told they'll have a special top to try on that has pockets to pop different sized implants into to get an idea. I have heard very good things about both of these guys. So, lets wait and see..... In the mean time I've tried the rice test!!! xxx Nic

Mr stanek is excellent
Please stay away from Transform they are very unscrupulous and have been responsible for disfiguring an extraordinary number of people. Another one I would urge people to avoid at all cost is Azhar Aslam. Don't try to save money on these operations by going to Transform they take no responsibility for any work their 'surgeons' carry out they are just the money collectors.

Transform
I have to totally disagree with you.I had my ba with Transform and im certainly not disfigured!!!!!!!! I also did not go with them to save money as i could have saved money going elswhere....i went with them because i had heard good things about the surgeon i had.I got what i asked for and am very pleased with result.

Have to totally disagree!!!!!!
I am sorry but I would have to totally 100% disagree on staying away from Transform and the fact that they are only "money collectors". I had my op with them a year ago and they were (the company as well as the surgeon) FANTASTIC.
As I have said many times on this site - I got a nasty infection in one of my wounds (my fault - not theirs) and my surgeon personally telephoned my local Hospital every single day to check on my progress and even asked if I would go and let him look after me personally. I had to decline because he was too far away.
Transform EVERY time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
