Hi everyone
I'm confused as to how a bra is meant to fit. There are many things on the internet about how to notice if you're wearing one too small, but nothing if it's too big..! Right now, I'm wearing a 32E. It's fine if I stand up straight and adjust myself into it. Well, I have one boob that's bigger than the other, so the cups are slightly wrinkled on the smaller one - but for the other one it's fine. However, when I slouch or lie down, there's a gap in the cup. I have quite flat top parts of my boobs, which might be why this happens. However, when I stand up straight I get slight 'armpit boob', and I think the band's too big because it rides up at the back AND front and the wire ends up sitting on my breasts. When I go down to a DD it fits slightly better, but after a day of wearing it there are lines across my boobs where the wires dug in slightly and the fabric was tight across them. But when I lie or ... back with the DD on I still get a gap between the fabric and my breasts. I know I don't need a D 'cause they're way too small for me. My question is... Do you get a gap when you lie down anyway? Do the Es sound too big? I seem to be in the middle of DD and E, slightly more on the DD side, but the DD feel a little too small. Thanks

Hi Tigerlily92
It can be such a pain when bras don't fit well as it leads to discomfort and an uneven silhouette under clothing.
From what you've described, I would say that while an E cup might be slightly too big (you really shouldn't have a gap when lying down; personally I find that the breasts move upwards towards your chin and slightly outwards towards your shoulders when lying down which is the natural flow of the fluids within you, so any gap should be from the base of the bra near the underwire not within the actual cup), it is still preferable to the discomfort of the tightness of the DD.
Also it seems that you're correct in saying that the back size might be too big. You might be more comfortable with a 30' - a 30E maybe? But before you rush off and buy new bras, invest in a face-to-face measurement - try John Lewis (if there's one where you live) or an experienced Marks & Spencers sales lady (the full get behind a curtain and flash your breasts jobbie!)
Once you know, buy from Marks or Triumph (try www.tempestra.co.uk for Triumph bras online). For more boutique-y brands, try going for a cup larger as they tend to cut rather small (you know how you're a size 10 and sometimes have to get a 12 in certain shops? Exactly!)
Hope you get some help here, and finally get bras that fit! All the best!

I got fitted at Bravissimo, as it's the closest one near me. Turns out I'm a 28F/FF! This makes sense 'cos the 32s were always riding up.
