"Recommended ov tests?"
Posted by rachjones 6 May  at  00:31

Hi girls, as i've mentioned in earlier posts today, am considering sme plan this month, if oh agrees! Can anyone recommend good quality and reliable ov tests? I know nothing about them but was wondering when you get a pos one, how long are you fertile for? Does it go pos just before you are fertile? Also, has anyone tried preseed and would you recommend that? Am planning on an all out assault this month!!

i have been reading about a new temperature device that takes your temperature all the time so you don't have to think about it... it's not for sale yet, but i signed up for the trial...and they emailed me saying they are looking for about 100 women to test it. in case your interested... www.duofertility.com i have used the boots one for a while but i don't think it is very accurate.
good luck!!!

forgot to answer rest of question, It goes + then you will definitely ovulate 12-36 hours after, so get bding and increase to 2 x daily they say just to be safe for 2 days!!! never tried preseed in fact havent a clue what that does!! rach x

I have used the cheap ones off internet last month -not very good and never got a +. then this month tried boots own (bit cheaper than clearblue) and good, but ran out and a freind gave me some clearblue and I had my first + and then realised how late i actually ovulate, so I would recommend the clearblue definitely and would also go with boots again as they were a bit cheaper!! hope that helps, we like s meets e and are fingers crossed for tomorrow I am really tempted to do a hpt test tomorrow ahh!!! I hope the witch can stay away for the mext 24 hours aahhh rach xxxx

Hi hun, how are you doing? hope you're OK.

I'd have to recommend clearblue digi, the ones with the smiley faces, they're not cheap but the first month I actually PROPERLY did SME plan, and used the OV sticks PROPERLY it worked first time....I'd done the odd day here and there over a few months before and unsurprisingly didn't get a positive.

I used them the month after my miscarriage and it showed fertile for one day,(we weren't actually trying then I was just getting used to the sticks!), the followng month (the month I got pregnant) it showed fertile for 2 days, so I wonder if it varies from month to month...

I know lots of the cheaper brands are popular but I just wanted that bit of extra reassurance really. I'm not sure how many months I'd have kept that up at that price, but if you're having a determined month might be worth the outlay.

Good luck, fingers crossed for you!!! xxxxx

Hi All, I m thinking of giving this a go too, although I'm worried that all this planning is begining to take the romance out of the whole thing and that I am getting too obsessed.

This will be month 3 off the pill for me, maybe I should just chill for a month and BD as usual - It's not like we don't do it often and need to step up the pace - we at least do it every day - now I'm looking at the sme plan and wondering if we do it too much...Also thinking that I'm 36 and need to get on with it so maybe I should be more stategic!...help!! Going Mad!!

Sorry for the rant.. advice on ov tests greatfully recieved, may well give it a try!

Rachel xx
