I am thinking about trying temperature testing but haven't a clue where to start, i know it probably sounds like a really noddy question but i would be really grateful if someone could point me in the right direction

Do you do it every day or just when you expect to ovulate?

Can anyone rec a good brand Thermometer or doesn ... really matter

I have used ov tests before and found these quite good

I am really starting to feel like i am obsessed and this is never going to happen for me

Hey Claire..just popped over from the expecting forum to see how you are all getting on. Just to say I was kindof ttc for 12mths and then started charting my temps/opt on Fertility friend for 2mths on the 3rd month did the charting and the Sperm Meets Egg Plan and got my BFP! Look up my thread tom watch 3rd month - to you see temps to compare.

Good luck! tc Sharon 24+3wk pink bump xxx

i started temping two months ago and went on the course at fertility freind.com which was great I now plot my temps there, I use a digital thermometer from boots and take it every morning before moving, dont even sit up and try to take it at the same time, tricky if your on hols or something, its good to temp and use OPK's as this gives you the most accurate ovulation date, mine was much later than I thought!! The charts do it all for you but your temp goes up the day after ovulation and stays up until af when it drops or it stays up if you are pg!! good luck xxx rach

"Temperature testing!!"

Hi Claire...
Temperature testing is a good way to find out what your body is doing... You need to do it everyday as your temperature change during ovulation is quite small. It may take 2-3 cycles to see the change in temperature and to be able to predict ovulation... To get the most accurate results it is best to take your temp at the same time every morning before getting out of bed, moving much, or drinking/eating anything. This can be difficult!! I have used the boots kit and it is alright. I just found out about a new one that isn't on sale yet but is supposed to be very accurate because you sleep with it under your arm (it is a patch) and it averages your temperature from the whole night. I just signed up for the trial www.duofertility.com if your interested ...i am hoping to get a free monitor if I get chosen for the trial!! anyway good luck... by the way www.fertilityfriend.com is a good place to store your temperatures...it makes graphs and helps you predict your next cycle.
hope this helps
xx
