Here I am. Missed last month's IUI due some refurbrishement at the clinic.
So finally a month passed and I am on my cd 10 today. Had been for a scan in the afternoon and my foli is at beautifull 12 mm. Yupeeeeee. Went to pharmacy to get pregnyl and it's sitting in the fridge, ready to be used soon. Next appointment for a scan is on Wednesday morning. Hoping to see foli at 15 mm at least, so we can go for IUI on about Friday. Fingers crossed.

I haven't been on these forums for a while, but I wanted to check and see how you were doing. I remember way back when you could barely even get an appointment to discuss your fertility concerns, and and its great to see you are well down the road to realising your dream!

Best of luck to you and your family, hope it all works out for you!!!

Hugs from Melanie and (not so baby anymore) Mila, now 16 months old

It is sooo fantastic to hear from you again. I also remember you from the time you were just in early stage of pregnancy. You gave me a lots of usefull info as I was just about starting in my long journey of ttc.
By the way, it would be very nice to have you here regullary (for a short time though). Mila will need a little sister or brother soon, hehehe.
Good luck to you and your family too. bye bye

a diary, we haven't had anyone do a diary in what seems like ages...so about time someone got the ball rolling again.

Wow, time has come round fast, It seems like yesterday that you were talking about the clinic being closed.

Fingers crossed that this is your month hun

"Cd 12, foli is 13 or 14 mm (only!!!)"
Posted by matelko 18 June  at  20:59

Yes, I'm missing diaries, it was so easy to keep track on other people's stage and state. I think that some might not like to write diarie, because they might think that others are not interesed or are not reading their posts. Which is not true of course.
Yes, I had my fifth session at chiropracticioner about a month ago. Unbelievably my back i s great. Still think it is a miracle. Wonderful to feel no pain and to be able to do anything I want.

Anyway, been to clinic today and at first doc. could not find my ovaries. She sayd that lining of my womb is thickening and I am probably near the ovulation. Than she managed to find my folicle and to our surprice it was only 13 mm, possibly 14 mm. Another scan app. is on Friday afternoon. I was adviced not to test for ovulation as tests are not picking the surge anyway. Funny enough I just bought a new packet of clearblue digies. lol

Posted by maggail70 19 June  at  00:22

how does it work then? do you have to have follicles at over 15 then get the pregnyl injection? i'm sorry, i'm really naive when it comes to this.

i'm glad ur back is better. to be pain free after so long must be magic. and i remember what u said about ladies getting BFPs after having it done.......wish you the best of luck babes. i'll be reading fri nite to see how u got on with ur scan

tc, gail xx
"Cd 14, foli "arround" 15 mm!!!"
Posted by matelko 20 June  at  21:59

You have very good memory. Now my back treatment is finished maby I have better chance.
Foli has to be at least 16 mm before you get injected with prgnyl. It might be individual, I don't know, but with me they insist on 16 mm minimum.

So, I went in today, to find that foli is only "about" 15 mm! I just thought so IS IT or IS IT NOT for God sake?!?! I felt sooo upset. My body is plaing tricks again. My folies used to grow much faster before. Even 3 mm a day. I just thought, here we go again, yet another trip to clinic tomorrow.
It was like a last drop when my doc said that she is on hol. whole weekend and it look like I'm about to ovulate sometimes over the weekend. Clinic is closed tomorrow, but that nasty doc who did one of my IUI's is going to be there on Sunday morning. So she arranged a scan for me for 10,30 a.m.
The options are:
- on Sunday it'll be after my ovulation already and therefore too late for IUI (because folies can pop out at 16 mm, although I've had folies at 23 mm before - but you never know),
- or that nasty clumzy doc. will do my IUI on Sunday without pregnyl,
- or I will get injection on Sunday and hopefully IUI on Monday won't be too late.

I'm all mixed up and destressed from all those otions and yet more possible delay!!! From b...y August last year I'm not ble to acomplish 6 IUI's!!! Every single month something crops up, as if it was not ment to happen. I don't know how I feel anymore. Maby empty is the right description of what's going on inside.
Anyway, I normaly don't drink at all, but at this mo. I'm drinking a nice glass of wine, eating milk chocole and filling the bath with hot water. Realising how much I'm missing out on while TTC!, lol lol
"Hey"
Posted by maggail70 21 June  at  01:03

everything in the world is worth waiting for!! a wee glass of wine will do the trick, will relax you if nothing else and no-one can tell me a hot bath doesn't make you feel better.

ok so the scans tell u how big the follicles that release the eggs are? does the pregnyl help release the eggs then? i understand the IUI itself but dont understand the role of pregnyl.(did tell u i was naive lol). i wish you the best for whatever the devil doc decides to do on sun. hopefully she'll be the angel doc in a couple of weeks time once you get ur BFP.

tc, gail xx
"Day 15"
Posted by matelko 21 June  at  14:54

Just came back from work. Had busy day, so I managed to relax and forget about actually whole world. Now I'm going to bake, I always relax while baking.
You are not naive at all. Probably "lacking" experience in that field. But having sayd that, I've been through 4 IUI's and still don't understand it all. Pregnyl in my case is helping to mature the egg and releace it. If you take pregnyl shots every day (I don't know how long for) apparently it makes you produce more eggs. They don't dare to give me more pregnyl shots or other drugs, because my cycles are fine and we have got lots of twins nd triplets in family. So I would be in "risk" of multiple pregnancy. Soooo, I suppose every single case has to be looked at separetly and treated with care and individuality. Not by some rules and statistics. So every single one of us is like a laboratory mice, being tested on, trying what would work and what not , lol.

Anyway, I forgot to mention, that yesterday I was told to take ovulation tests twice a day, just in case I picked up surge. Not sure how to feel about it. I am testing, but it is all strange. Don't test, test, don't test and now test again. Hmmm, I'm in their hands. Will do whatever they'll say. I suppose even doctors with years of experience don't know everything. If they did, I would be mum already. So I'm trying not to be ungry or upset with them, they are doing their very best, aren't they?

Not sure what's going on and where I am. Scan did not go well. Doc was sooo clumzy, I was in agony. He was all over my "insides" with that scaning thing. Tried to press on my abdomen here and there - even in places I would not expect him to press, lol, (I thought, surely thts my stomack man, not ovaries, lol) but as hard as he tried, he could not find the foli. He did not think I ovulated yet by looking at lining of womb. So I'm going for another scan tomorow morning to see if we can see anything.
I just laugh now. Whatever!!! lol lol lol
Anyway, the best thing we can do is to BD as much as we can so ovulation is cowered in case it comes unexpectidly.
Going for a walk now, to enjoy strong wind, cold and rain, lol. Good old english weather, that always cheer's us up, lol lol
"Cd 17, foli is 25 by 26 mm - wohoooou what a biggie..."
Posted by matelko 23 June  at  19:23

To start with, we slept in this morning. Woke up at 8 a.m. So we had 15 minutes to shower, dry hear, dress and to eat. We managed it, but what a run, lol. Had breakfast in the car lol, as we drove to clinic. I went in today thinking that ovulation is over, but took pregnyl with me just in case.
Within seconds doc said she found my ovaries, foli is still there and massive 25 by 26 mm. I could see it on the screen, it really was gigantic, lol. Doc was surpriced it's still there and so big. The fact that the test did not picked up surge was not surprice at all. It just confirmed that they don't agree with me for some reason. Lining of womb was sooo ready and thick - apparently.
She sayd, that in ideal world it would be great if I had the injection yesterday and the IUI today, but as nothing was arranged with laborant they would not be able to take me in today for IUI, so we went with second best option. I had injection today and will go for IUI tomorrow. Unfortunatelly (yes, another catch)it is at 3.30 p.m. as laborant is on course all day. So it is not ideal, it would be better to have IUI as early as possible in the morn., but will give it a shot - you never know.
We were adviced to BD today just in case the egg decided to pop out "early".
I'm trying to stay positive and hope for the best. What's ment to be, will be. Anyway, I still have one more shot of IUI if this one doesn't work. My last hope before IVF.

"Cd 19 today, iui done yesterday"
Posted by matelko 25 June  at  18:17

IUI was rubish yesterday! First, the spekulum was too short and doc was trying to turn it upside down and back again to get a better wiew. Did not work so of she went to find longer one. That one was fine, but would not stay in place, so dh had to hold it and press on it so it would not slip out. I kept telling him to press harder as I felt it slipping out oll the time. Poor thing was worried that he is hurting me. Than the long catheter was placed, but as doc wanted to pul out the inside bit it would not go. The catheter was faulty!!! So of she went to get another one. Than it went quick. But what a struggle. I fel for my doc, she was so under pressure, havig my dh watching her closely as well, lol.
It was quite painfull and unconfortable, but I suppose I can't have all my IUI's going well. I have full trust in my doc and know she was doing her very best. She kept talking to me to distract me frorm what was going on, dh joked arround a bit, and I was reasuring them that I was fine.
Anyway, one more thing. Every time I went for IUI doc mentioned that my cervix is sort of swollen. At the beggining she send me for smear tests to have it checked over, in case it was cancer. Yesterday she mentioned AGAIN that it was puffed a bit. So I asked if I shoud go do gyna or what could it be? She sayd that as long as my smers are fine and I'm not bleeding after sex, scans or IUI's, she would not worry about it. She even mentioned name of the condition, some latin name. It is apparently common. But in the future if I spot any bleeding especially after sex she would recommend to go to gyne, it is treatable apparently. She sayd something about reversed cervix. I want to ask her next time what is the condition called again, so I can find out more about it.

After IUI we wnt for a meal and than straight to bed. We were absolutelly exhousted. It's all forgotten now, thank God for work, lol. Well, who knows, maby it was our last visit to fert.clinic, ... who knows.
"Fingers crossed chuck"
Posted by saffy7 25 June  at  20:15

that this is it and you get a break from the prodding and poking around for a while anyway. are you financing your IUI yourself?

xx
"Hi..."
Posted by matelko 25 June  at  20:31

If I was financig IUI's myself I would have stopped after number 3 and went for IVF instead!!! IUI's in UK are complicated thing. Some postcodes get 6 (as I do) on NHS but some none (which is highly unfair!!!!). I do not pay a thing except about £7 for pregnyl prescription. I know that IUI costs arround £500, so I feel privilidged to have 6 free goes. Also, after this I can have 1 free IVF, I think I would only pay for drugs, which can go upto £1000 (that's what I've heart). I have got a friend who lives in different postcode and she has got to pay for her treatments. So she is going for IVF, she feels IUI's are wasting money.
"Cd 21, d 4 from iui"

Today is my day off after a long time. The house is such a mess. At this moment I work more than ever before and with going to fert.clinic so often, there was no spare time to look after the house. So I started tidying yesterday. Was at it till nearly midnight. Scrubbing and washing like mad, lol. I love when everything is clean and tidy. Going to continue now.
I somehow managed to forget all about IUI, can not believe it is day 4 from having IUI done. I don't feel any symptoms, aches or pains. Even (.)(.) are absolutelly fine. Frirst night after the injection I felt sharp pain of right ovary (whre the folicle was), so I think that could have been the pain from releecing egg. The next day I felt slight cramps in my tumy, but that could have been the stress from IUI, don't know. After that nothing. Is it good, or bad? No idea. So I'll just wait and see. Dear God, I hate waiting!!!

I think its probably best to keep busy as you are doing as god knows the effect stress/anxiety has on conception....but to be hopeful you know many women have no symptoms at all and are preggars and some of us think we have loads of symptoms and AF turns up.....sorry i'm not being very helpful but its so abstract and intangible this ttc business...have been following your impressive diary which is really engrossing...really hope this month is your month chuck. All the best

Just one question. Are very very very sore eyes a pregnancy symptom? Because if so, I'm defo. pregnant, yupeeee, lol lol lol I've been gardening today, I think I might have robbed my eyes with dirty hands or something. I feel so sorry for myslef, can not read or watch TV, so not sure how else to kill the time tonight.

Anyway, just wanted to put into my diary, that since about 3 p.m. I started having sharpish pains in my right side of abdomen. They come and go, sometimes it is hardly noticable, but sometimes it is sooo sharp.

Thanks saffy for your encouridging message.

I'm not really looking for simptoms, or at least not yet, knowing it is too early. When I mention signs or symptoms I mean side effects from pregnyl. My body must have ajusted to it and doesn't react to it at all.
