"When should i do ovulation tests??"

Hi,

I only came off the pill in April and my periods seem to be becoming more regular. However they are still irregular. I have bought some Ovulation tests but i'm not sure when to start testing. I have bought alot so I could test everyday but don't know if this will be pointless.

Thanks for your help

Sarah xx

Hi Hope alls okay with everyone!
Would someone please explain to me how ovulation tests work...as to be honest I haven't heard of them. I gather you test around when you ovulate (around cd14?)
What do they look like? Where do you buy them? and How much do they cost?
Would appreciate any info....thanks in advance

Hi Scottishmum,

I bought 30 ovulation tests for £10 from babymad.com. They are a bit like pregnancy tests, you dip them in your urine and wait for the results. I'm no expert but they detect a hormone surge that shows when you are ovulating and the best time to try and conceive.
My periods are still irregular which is why I bought 30 but i started testing yesterday which was CD10 and will carry on everyday until it detects the surge. If you go on the www.babymad.com website it explains it all in detail but they are so easy to use and will hopefully work when I do ovulate. I have heard good things about them.

Hope this helps and good luck xx

Hey Sarah,

I followed the sperm meets egg plan for a couple of months and that recommends that you test from cd10. If you google sperm meets egg it will explain more.

Fingers crossed for you

Thanks for the advice guys. I think i'll start testing from cd10 and see what happens. Just found out my sis in law is pregnant so really excited now. Fingers crossed this could be my month.
Thanks for the advice xx

I came off the pill end of March and last month my cycles seem to have gone down to 31ish days. I tested days 13 (no sign), 14 (v.faint ov line), 15 (dark line), 16 (dark line) and then 17 and 18 (v.faint line). So my fertile days were 15 and 16 on a 31 day cycle. (Found out I fell pregnant during that cycle last week). Im no expert but if mine was around 15 and 16 I would start from around cycle day 10 on a 28 day cycle and go from there. But everyone is different that would just be a rough guess. Good luck with them in my opinion they are fantastic! Hope I have been of some help. x
