How long will it take to concieve??

hello,

I am 22 years old and we have been trying for four months...I am starting to get abit worried, this may sound silly to be worried at my age but it's a horrible feeling when I find only one blue line on the test. Sometimes I imagine seeing another very faint line too but ,bang, I get my period and I am all miserable again. It's very frustrating.

I am extrememly healthy and doing all the right things, i.e folic acid, balanced diet, moderate excercise etc. I don't smoke or drink - I tell a lie - I do drink one glass a night maybe three nights per week with dinner. My partner is fit and healthy and also does not smoke or drink. (He is 34) what more can we do? I realise that people try for up one year before success and I now realise it's not all that easy!! Not even at 22.

In the same boat

I am 20 and have been trying for a year. I know exactly how you feel though. I have gone to doctors and specialists and they all tell me the same thing - It will happen when the time is right - as if its comforting. I don't want to lie to you, it does get harder. You will go through phases of not caring and then getting depressed again, at least I do. All I can say is keep your mind off it as best you can. Stay away from the baby aisle and make friends who are childless and loving it! Its not easy but hopefully you will have better luck than we are! Good luck!

15 months!!

Hi There

I am 24 years old almost 23 weeks pregnant after trying for approx 15 months. My periods were never regular and so I kept a note of the dates. I worried too... my partner has a little boy from a previous relationship so I knew it was me. Doctors won't do anything until you've been trying for two years. I was previously on the pill and this may take a year to come out of your system. Keep doing all the right things... I was really upset and worried constantly but afetr a while I thought "It will happen when the time is right!". I didn't know I was pregnant till I was 11 weeks!! It will happen babe - your body might be preparing and may take a little longer than you think! I've had to move home from France and cancel my wedding because of our little blessing! I don't regret a thing! Stop worrying and think positive!

Good Luck

Hi

am 23. me and partner have been trying for year now have been off pill for 2 year. last period was 3 month late. as u can imagine i was doing loads of tests. had tests done at docs but all is in good working order. last tuesday i had very small bleed only lasted the morning then nothing was due on period sunday. but i doubt i will be pregnant. i go gym try to eat well and drink only small amounts. everytime i go into work it seems someone else is pregnant without trying is so frustrating. as long as you having periods i wouldnt worry. but cos you been trying for over year you should be able to fertility checks now from gp-will help to put your mind at rest. includes testing your partners semen. hope all goes well x

Hiya

Hiya, it took me and my husband the first month to conceive our bump. I found out when I was ovulating, then we went for it. Its really difficult to relax, but it does make a difference. After you've had sex put a pillow under your bottom, to help the sperm go where its ment to be. ( sorry for being graffic, it worked for us) I am now 11 weeks and 3 days pregnant. As I say try and relax, and enjoy having lot of fun with your partner. Now im pregnant my labido has gone. Hopefully it should come back in the next trimester.

Good luck x
