Stopping cerazette

Hello, new here but have been reading through lots of posts with interest.
Me and other half decided we'd like to start ttc end of this year/in the new year so I stopped taking Cerazette on the 20th October when I ran out. Stupidly I thought I would get my period straight away as when I first started on Cerazette if I was even late taking a pill 2-3 days later I would bleed. After a few days had passed I decided to look up what to expect and boy was I in for a suprise!! There are so many stories about cerazette and the difficulties women have conceiving after it that I now feel really worried. I am also a little confused as to why my doctor has prescribed it as I stopped having the depo 18 months ago in preparation for starting a family and wanted a pill that would have less of an effect on my fertility.
Anyway, where am I up to... well for me it has been 26 days and no bleeding. I have however for the past 7-10 days had really sore breasts and stomach cramps. I am just wondering if anyone else has had similar symptoms after stopping Cerazette?
Thanks for any help you can give me with this, I know it hasn't been long but it's starting to really stress me.
xx

hi i stopped cerazettte on monday 26th may and bled the very next day for a full week.we started for a baby straight away.i havent had a period this month but have quite strong cramps.have done pregnancy test but its neg. help

Hello

I was just reminising by looking at the TTc board....... I was on Cerezzette for 3 years and I too had to wait about 2 months or so before my body got back to normal but just to cheer you up, ithought I would let you my time scale of what happened. Stopped pill in June, used ovulation kits and concieved end August, gave birth to my daughter in May this year. Cerezzette does get a bad write up but its really not that bad in my opinion xx

Thanks

...for taking the time to reply
I did get a period 30 days after stopping, so am hopeful that my body is on it's way to being 'normal' again. I have been using opk's and taking my BBT so hopefully I will get some good news soon.
Congratulations to you on the birth of your daughter, proof there is hope after Cerazzette

Hi!

Welcome to the board

I just popped on here to see the latest with people and noticed your post.

I was on Cerazette before getting pregnant and found it awful. i constantly had false pregnancy symptoms, especially the sore boobs and delayed periods and my cycles took a while to get in sink as that pill had stopped them for a while.

Saying that though, my GP told me it would be around 6 months before expecting anything to happen and we fell after 8 months. Unfortunately we miscarried but fell again February this year.

So chin up hun, it will happen. It might just be a case of having that pill come out of your system a bit more. Fingers crossed for you and I'm sure you'll find everyone here very friendly and understanding

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome and congratulations to you! It's nice to hear there is light at the end of the tunnel I know most people on this forum don't want their period to come but I will feel so much better when mine does.

xx

Hang in there

I came off depo and then went onto cerazette. It was awful and I wish I had never taken it.

I was nearly nine months before I had a period after stopping it and I used to get awful hormone surges...very sore boobs, nausea.I am not trying to scare you but it was a nightmare.

Also I have been pregnant four times and lost them all before 10 weeks. I have had tests and they can find nothing wrong and am now having acupuncture and homeopathy to try to help.

Good luck x

Oh no!

Oh god poor you and here I am worrying after 4 weeks!
How long were you on cerazette for? I keep telling myself that everyone is different and I might be fine but that niggling worry is still there...I guess it's just a waiting game.
I am sending all the luck I can your way and hoping that everything works out for you!

Thank you

I was on cerazette for about a year but was having problems with it and decided enough was enough.

I developed acne whilst taking it and am still suffering with it now! In hindsight I just wish I had never taken it!

Just stay positive and hopefully your cycles will return soon. Bear in mind I am a slightly older member of these boards as I am 41.

Good luck x

At last!!

Well I got my period today exactly a month (31 days) after taking my last pill. I know that things still might not have returned to normal fully but I feel so much better. Can properly start trying now

Cerrazette worry

i stopped taking cerazette two months ago after taking it without problems for two years. Well when I say without problems I didnt have a period at all, which was great for me. However now i am concerned. I am not pregnant and not trying to get, but am concerned that my cycle is no longer working.
Are you able to advise?

Cerazerette

i was on it for just under 3 months whilst on it my periods were regular but longer with spotting. I last had my period on 2nd oct but it was just browny Its now 8th nov so am 8 days late considering i was only on it for just under 3 months that shouldnt affect my periods now should it? plz help n e advice?
