Weight gain at 10 weeks

Hiya everyone!

I am 10 weeks pregnant with my first child. I have all ready gained 6lbs and am constantly hungry! Has anyone else gained weight this early on. I am really worried that I will balloon throughout this pregnancy. It's also hard keeping it quiet with a tummy starting to stick out!! I would love to hear from someone in a similar position!!

Cheers, and good luck to you all!!

Weight gain

Congratulations to all of you!

With my first I gained all the way through, and ended up over 2 stone heavier after Ben was born, and it took years to get rid of - I blame the cream egg craving, for someone who hated sweets and chocolate, a 3 a day habbit was pretty impressive!

With my second, I had just lost all the weight after 31/2 years, and was reasonably determined not to repeat the same mistakes. I did this in 3 ways, swam 3km per week and walked everywhere I could, kept a food diary (just to keep me honest) and had the most amazing luck - a craving for tropical fruit salad! I only gained 13lb, and I know many would say that is too little, but Mattie was still 8lb 8oz, I was eating loads, just all the right things, and my doc was really happy with it.

A few weeks ago I discovered a little suprise was going to appear in around 9 months, and was slightly put out, as I had just (after23 years of trying) got within 2 lb of my 140lb golden number. The baby is very welcome, if a total shock, and I am now suffering from nasty nausea and have lost 6 lb in a fortnight!

I will do the same things again, except this time I am actually really fot, and plan to keep up my 4 gym sessions a week right through. My friends dont know yet, but I am getting comments about how slim I look - I had better enjoy them while I can

Well that's my weight story, I will keep you posted though

Donna

Hi

Well, I was in a similar situation: at the week of 12 I discovered that I gained 2exrta kilos, I was really panicking cos its a long way till the end..I read that weight gain between 10-15 kilos thoughout pregnancy is ideal.
you have to watch what you eat and the general believe that you have to eat for two is not true at all. Eat frequently but small portions, snack on healthy things like fruits, serial bars, seed bars, dried fruits, nuts..and drink plenty of water..I was constantly hungry in the begining and wanted to eat all the time but it kind of subsided once I passed 13 weeks
Try to avoid empty calories like chocolates bars, cakes, biscuits...

Good luck

Katie

13 weeks

Hiya

I'm 13 weeks now and have put on 5lbs.

Problem is is had just lost 4st 4lb when i found out i was pregnant. Swore i wouldnt eat loads but i'm constantly startving!

Feel bad for worrying about weight but dont want last 12 months to be a waste!

Got photshoot for a slimming magazine on Tuesday - am hoping a decent pair of spanx will hold my new pot belly in!!!!

No idea how much you are supposed to put on though!! - any ideas anyone?

8 weeks and showing

Hi there

This is my second, and I am learning from my mistakes last time. I put on lots of weight all the way through, so this time I decided to ignore my cravings, and reach for a smoothie (I will be so bored of them by the end!)I hate chocolate, and by 10 weeks the last time I was a confirmed 3 Cadbury's cream eggs a day person, and it didn't get any better!

Having said that, I am showing already, and haven't gained a pound - I have also had to tell my employer and friends because it is obvious that either I am eating too many pies or I am pregnant! The fact that I have stupidly agreed to do a swimathon in a fortnight may suggest it is the latter, ans (sickness permitting) I am doing 3 - 4 KM swimming per week!

Don't get very hung up on the weight, but try to keep a lid on it by saying no every so often.

If you are in the normal weight range you will eventually put on 20 - 35 pounds, and 10-15% of that is in the first trimester - so your gain is not catastrophic anyway

Hope you are doing well, and congratulations

Donna

I'm only 5 weeks and have gained 7 pounds and have a small bump. I have no clothes that fit even. We also went ahead and told everyone. If something happens then it was meant to be that way. Was are thoughts.

You can look better

Unfortunately when I was pregnant I did not put on weight till 6 months. I wanted to look chubby but din't look so at all.
