Hi i went for an early dating scan at 8 weeks to reassure myself everything was ok. It wasn't.The size of the sac would suggest i'm only 5 to 6 weeks. They did find a heartbeat but said it was slower than they would normally like. Ive got to go back for another scan in 10 days. I'm worried they know the baby isn't going to survive and are preparing me for the worst. Have i been sent home to let nature take it's course, or if i am only 5 to 6 weeks (although don't know how hat could be posible with my dates) is it possible that the babys heat has only just started to develop? The waiting is going to be difficult. Should i prepare myself for bad news or is there any hope?

ive been though everything and more and the one thing that is important is that you stay calm, stressing wont help the situation. right at 5+6 the heart beat they would find would be just about noticable many times ive been and told theres no hartbeat but a few days make all the difference cuz allthough the scan is sensitive it can miss things and i was told by one of those scan people that really they dont like to do scans until 6+5 weeks cuz they can miss things. Right now the size thing dates change constantly and it goes from the first day of your last period now if you didnt ovulate till right at the end then your already 3 weeks behind so think positive book some time off work and just lie on the sofa eating beans they are supposed to be good for you.
You are stronger than you think and will cope with what ever is thrown at you. Just trust your own body you know it best. good luck and keep us informed

Thanks so much for your email. I really helps to know i am not alone in what i'm going through. I had some brown discharge yesterday. Almost nothing, but expect to see more each time i go to the toilet. So far nothing else. I've been on the sofa since yesterday and am trying to remin positive. I called the hospital yesterday who aid they could try and move the scan forward, especially if i started bleeding, but it's a public holiday on monday so will have to wait until tuesday.
Hopefully, things will be ok.
