I have PCOS and I had no periods when pregnant (granted until my dr. intervened due to my attempts to fall pregnant I wasn't haveing any periods, and now that my baby is born I am not yet having periods!)

A 'period' is basically your uterine lining shedding - this is what the egg implants into and if you were to have a 'normal period' while there was an egg implanting I can't the pregnancy continuing. The egg would be flushed out with the lining.

However, If you were on the pill it when you had sex (did I read you post right?) its pretty unlikely you could have been pregnant at all. The pill has an incredibly high prevention rate as long as it is taken properly.

FYI, I didn't show any physical signs of pregnancy, weight gain or belly hardening until waaaay into the pregnancy (like, a few months not a few days or weeks). Probably the first symptom I noticed was fuller, 'tingly' breasts. This prompted me to do a pregnancy test which turned out to be positive (this was about 5 weeks after conception). From a nausea perspective i was unusual there too, I had no sickness at all, I think this might be the first indication of pregnancy for some people.

So hard to say but I would say your body is just being cruel to you! Mine used to do the same thing. Good Luck.

Heya there

I'm currently awaiting the results of a hcg serum blood test to confirm if I'm expecting my first child or not however I suffer with PCOS and was wondering if any other ladies out there who suffer with the condition and are trying/have had children can answer a question for me.

I was taking Dianette to regulate my periods having been diagnosed with PCOS at nineteen (I'm now twenty-five) and was taking the pill when my other half and I last had sex early last month. For the last few weeks I've been suffering with nausea and my belly has felt as if it's hardening, my period was also very late. I've taken three home pregnancy tests (not clear blue admittedly) and they came back negative and went to see my GP and he sent me for a blood test (I get the results this week).

However, on Friday of last week I started bleeding, it's been very light compared to my normal period and while I do know that it's possible to have normal cycles during a pregnancy - my god-daughters mum had a normal cycle while pregnant - I just wondered if any other sufferers have had periods while been pregnant. I've always been led to believe by my doctor that the condition can cause multiple eggs to release at the same time so could it be possible that more than one egg was released? And if so could one have implanted while one has carried on it's normal cycle?

I would be so greatful for any advice as I'm currently wondering if I'm a)losing my mind with worry, b) have miscarried or c)my body is just being cruel.

I don't know much about PCOS, however I am going to the docs tomorrow as I suffer from very irregular cycles & am trying for a baby.

So I'm not much good on the advice front...however, I will say please post this thread on the "trying for a baby" forum as that's where a lot of us are & I know that there are a few sufferers of PCOS.

Hope this helps.

take care xx

Can I just start by asking....did you not know that he didn't use a condom & are you not on the pill?

The main sign of pregnancy is a missed period. There are many others but some women don't have any at all.

Have you missed a period? Are you feeling any different, if so, how?

Please don't panic & if you are pregnant you need to go to & see your doctor & find support in either your Mum or a friend when you go.
