"Recurring miscarriage clinics"

Hi there,

Are partners (male) okay on this forum? My wife is not really into forums but, after reading a few of the posts here, I thought this is a really useful place to visit...

We're currently at the early stages with a recurring miscarriage clinic up North and obviously we've all our fingers/toes crossed that the next 3 months will highlight a bit of background into my wife's previous 3 m/cs.

We've a mixed feeling about the service we have received so far since her first m/c and I was recently reading a book by a Dr Regan who appears to have a clinic in London @ St Marys with an excellent reputation.

Has anybody got any feedback about Dr Regan's clinic and how you can go about joining, is it private?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

David.

Hello,
My partner and I have our first appointment at Professor Regans clinic tomorrow, we have everything crossed as we have just recently had a 4th miscarrage...
You have to have a consultant referral for the clinic if you live outside of London, your consultant should be able to do this for you.
We only had to wait a few weeks for an NHS appointment, which was fantastic as we were told to expect to wait months.
Hope this helps.
Claire

ive had 4 misses and currently 6 weeks preggers, i also have a 12 year old. what a nerve racking time it is. i know how you feel, its so devastating.
dont know anything about dr regans clinic sorry, im under the womens hospital in liverpool and they have been great a Dr farqurson(private but also nhs) also a dr quenby. loads of tests, they found out after my third miss that i had sticky blood and that i would have to take asprin then fragmin injections once i was pregnant again, but unfortunatly missed again in my 6th week.

they know so little about miscarriage everythin they do is really just guess work.

they asked me if i would have this other test which they were still researching and i jumped at the chance. the test was for natural killer cells in the womb and women who have had recurring miscarriage have a higher level on these cells than normal women. when i had the test i had a very high level of natural killer cells.

now that im pregnant again (14 months after my last miss)ive been to the hospital today for a scan to make sure the baby is in the right place and have been put on a course of steriod and due for another scan in 3 wks. im hoping that this time this is the cause of my miscarriages and all will go smoothly. but as this is still only in research and hasnt been proven as yet im just trying to be positive. read up on nautral killer cells in miscarriage and im sure it will help in some way.
hope all goes well
keep me posted
y
