"Missed miscarriage"
Posted by nicke15 18 October  at  21:51

I had my scan today after I started bleeding on Saturday at what I thought was 10 weeks into my pregnancy.

Anyway scan showed a 71/2 week sac and no fetal heartbeat...a missed miscarriage.

Fortunately I was able to go to theatre and had a d&c at about 3pm this afternoon. Now am at home resting.

Good news, such as it is,they could see no obvious reason for the loss and have just advised that we wait a month, have a normal period and then can try again.

So I am just hoping things return to normal quickly.

Nicki

Hi Nicki,
Sorry to hear your news. I've never posted on here before but felt like I needed to hear stories from other people.

I had a missed miscarriage last week at 12 weeks. I had felt fine all through but had a tiny bit of spotting so was sent for a scan a week early which showed the fetus at a tiny 6 weeks and no heart beat.

I seem to feel up and down - good days where I'm really positive about trying again and days when I can't stop crying. I think this is normal and just hormones. Going back to work tomorrow - just want to get back to normal.

Hope you feel better soon - Am wishing away time til can try again and feel a bit guilty that I'm not grieving more....

Dee
"Hi, i am also new on hear, looking for other people to chat too, who have had similar experiences"

I went for a emerency scan monday 5th Nov, following spotting, brown mucus, which everyone said is normal around the 12 week mark, because of your period would of been due. I had a gut feeling something was wrong like I did the last pregnancy, so this is the second time for me the same has happened, went for a 8 week scan everything fine, heart beating, went for the scan day before I thought 12 weeks, the heart beat had stopped, I was gutted, couldn,t stop crying, they said it died at 8weeks but my body hadn't rejected it yet, although the spotting was a sign
The day after they booked me in for D&C, never had a operation was really really nervous about being put to sleep, next thing I woke up it was all over, last time I had to continue with my body disposing of it by its self and saw everything pass out, it was mentally scarring. I was starting to get cramps with heavier bleeding and my tummy was really tender like a football in the stomach that shouldn't been there, after the pain, tenderness disappeared, lefted with bleeding.
I am now sitting here day after, the odd outburst of crying, trying to find answers on hte internet why the heartbeat keeps stopping causing now 2 miscarriages. I can't settle doing anything like reading, knitting, stitching. I feel really low, grumpy, and empty that I am not pregnant anymore and as well it took 2 years to concieve as I have poly cycist ovaries which makes it more harder.
Has anyone else had more than one miscarriage and been given any idea why it happens more than once.
Nicki, I also am very sorry to hear your news and know exactly what you are going through Jane Reevo
