| Thread started by: | "Still bleeding after stillbirth..." Posted by natzcatz 11 November at 14:37
Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone can help of has been through a similar experience.
I suffered a stillbirth on 25th September 2007, I went full-term and 7 days over my due date, a date I will never forget as its my father-inlaws birthday too.
Anyway since it has happened I havent really stopped bleeding for more than 2-3 days and yesterday it was really heavy and painful.
I want to go on the pill cos after such a horrific time I just dont feel ready to concieve again. But as I am still bleeding I dont know when my period has started or stopped.
Has anyone else been through a similar thing or has any advice.
Many Thanks, Natalie xxx

Hi I am Declan's mum and he died at 41 weeks on the 31st of august and pased away on the 9th of september due to difficulty durung birth. I was chatting too you a while ago. i found that i bleed for probaly 4 weeks then stopped and then a coulpe of weeks later bleed for two more weeks but i just started taking the pill didnt wait for them to get regular and they have been fine since.
I was reading some of your posts and i noticed yuo are finding it hard to deal with. Have you been to couselling? I went and i think it was the best thing for me and my partner. she just said to me when i cry let someone know the reasons you are crying. I was having these nightmares that i would walk into declan's room because i heard him crying and by the time i would get there he would be gone and i couldnt walk into a TARGET near the baby section it was starting to rule my life. But i went to couseling and felt like a wait has been lifted off my shoulder.
I have just gone back to work my self and it is the best thing for you it helps you move on.
But dont rush things take it at your own pace and slowly you will get there you know how they say the past is the past but our past is always going to be our future it is going to make us stronger people.
If you need to talk i am here. xoxoxo CIANNE

So sorry to hear about your loss. I had to have a termination at 17wks. The doctor told me i should only bleed for a couple of wks cos i was early on, anyway i bled for 12 wks then stopped a few days then bled for another 3 wks they did eventually stop and i went on the pill to try regulate my period again. Periods are now back to normal n im back off the pill trying again. Hope this helps Lisa x

Sorry to hear about your loss. my baby was stillborn at 31weeks.
I bleed for about 2 weeks and then it would start and stop for about 3weeks and then it just stopped all together.
I also wanted to go back on the pill for the same reasons as you, i went back on it about 28 days after i gave birth on my gps advice, i also could have waited untill i started my first period.
hope this helps
sasha x
