I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks and exactly the same happened to me - I had light bleeding from Tuesday - Monday, like a light period but constant, and then on Monday I passed what looked like a little kidney bean. I knew then that was my baby and then I didn't feel pregnant any more. I stopped bleeding on the Tuesday, and am now waiting for my period so that I can start trying again.

"Do you always bleed heavily after an early miscarriage?"
Posted by amylyn72 8 February  at  12:07

Hi, just wanted to ask for some advice. I found out on tuesday at 10 weeks that I had miscarried. I had been spotting since the previous wednesday and was told on tues to expect heavy bleeding and pain. So far all I have had is spotting and no pain. Has anyone else experienced this? Can you miscarry without alot of pain and blood? Any of your experiences welcome!

"My experience"
Posted by clairey22 8 May at 16:20

Hi amylyn,

I know this was posted in 2007 but i thought i would tell my experience i found out i was PG on March 31st 2008 and after a car accident with an un insured driver i lost my baby on April 13th 2008.

I started bleeding straight away which was really heavy and painfull i had to wear 2 night pads at the same time and still leaked i only blead for 1 week but it was the strangest bleed i have ever had and it was soo fast and so much i went to the hospital to have a scan but did not need a d&c which is really lucky and the doctor explained that when you have a miscarridge usually your womb contracts untill there is nothing left but some times there is some left and thats when you need a d&c.

So i think every woman differs as a friend of mine passed out from the pain but yes mine was painfull but nothing worse that bad period pains.
"Bleeding and tummy cramps"
Posted by nomi78 9 January at 20:16

Hello!
I also found out on uesday at 10 1/2 weeks that sadly we have also miscarried following spotting yesterday morning and confirmation via a scan at hospital. The tummy cramps started yesterday afternoon and the bleeding started soon after. All I can describe the bleeding as is the heaviest and most uncomfortable period I've ever had. Nothing is recognisable thank goodness and I guess it['s just the egg sack and the support system that started growing but just couldn't continue. If you have tummy cramps, take strong painkillers and have lots of bed rest. My mum also suggest Lucozade to give you energy too.
Hope you're feeling better soon.
Hugs,
Nomi x

Hi, About 2 1/2 half weeks weeks ago found out I had a miss-misscarriage. Baby died at 5 weeks. I have been bleeding for this whole time. For the last 3 evenings a bit heavy. Expelled something that looked like the placenta last night. It is taking along time, but the doctor said it could still go on for a week. Sorry for graphics. Fingers crossed I don't, but if I do have another miscarriage I might have a D&C. I wasoffered this, but my husband and I decided to gether to it the conservative way as our baby was cionceived natuaraly and my body was doing a natuaral thing. Wishing you all the best for the future.

sorry to hear your news, the only way of knowing for sure is to have a scan,i was told my baby had died at 6 weeks when i was 10 or 11 weeks,i had spotting which was brown and also no pain like yourself.i went for a scan to confirm the miscarriage and i did indeed miscarry like they said i would.i chose to take the medical evacuation which is a tablet you take then go home.i did seart to bleed very heavy and i had to be taken to a and e as i was loosing too much blood i needed oxygen and fluid.i am now anemic.sorry of this upsets you,it may not happen to you but i thought the same as you because i had no pain.it may be that things go ok for you i hope they do.good luck

My daughter is having her 7th mc. All of them have etopic. This one is different. She went to the dr last Sun and they gave her a type of chemo drug that begins with 'Meth' something. Her babies are growing on her right ovary. She had intense pain for about five days and it stopped. Her appetite returned and she started gaining weight. She went yesterday to get blood work and the babies have quit growing. Last night she started hurting again. It hurts her everytime she urinates or has a bm. She is in a lot of pain. It is a pressure pushing out through her rectum. She starts spotting and then quits. She is throwing up,but not severely. Is this normal? We are waiting for the big bleed, but it has not come. Please respond to this. We want to know if this normal. Her others were nothing like this. thanks. anne

Hi
i have also just had a miscarriage last week, i was about 7weeks pregnant at the time, i had spotting of blood leading up to the miscarriage and on the day of miscarriage i had heavy bleeding and this is day 4 of my miscarriage and i am still bleeding heavy, but i didnt experience any heavy pain during miscarriage, it was just like a period pain, i even went to work on the day of my miscarriage and didnt know i had miscarried until i got home and went to the toilet, hope this helps
"Quick question?"
Posted by supermom86 30 April at 15:08

How long can you bleed lightly during a miscarriage and can some of the pain happen closer to your chest? Please someone respond quickly. I want to tell my husband what I think might be going on, but I want some better understanding first.
"Miscarriage without heavy bleeding"
Posted by patient15 26 April at 15:05

Hi there, I just recently had a miscarriage at 6 weeks. I started spotting on saturday very light and then on Tuesday morning i felt a little paid under my stomach and in my lower back, i passed a clot, which was my baby forming,
ot was almost the size of a kidney bean. When I had passed that I felt, I was not pregnant anymore. So you could have a miscariage and not have heavy bleeding and paid. I hope this help you.

when i miscarried 2 weeks ago i was told by the consultant at the hospital to expect fairly heavy bleeding for at least 4 weeks. anyway i started bleeding on the thursday just the same as when i get my period and it had stopped completely by the sunday and the only pain i had was really mild period pains (but i have crohns disease and so the doctors all said that their couldnt go by the pain because i have it all the time anyway)!

i think it just depends on the individual to be honest with you, but if you are worried you can phone the hospital or just go straight in to the gyny department.

anyway think ive waffled on enough lol! hope everything works out ok for you and good luck xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

"Miscarriage"

Hi
I had a blighted ovum (found out at 7 weeks). Had very light bleeding for 5 weeks. finally miscarried at 12 weeks (last thursday). Bleeding was very heavy with lots of clots and tissue (sorry to be graphic) but i feel that women should be prepared because i certainly wasnt. I also had quite severe cramps. I was so frightened i went to A&E. Am still bleeding now (4 days later) and am really hoping i still dont need a D&C. So, i doubt that you have fully miscarried if you have only had light bleeding. Try not to worry, nature will do its best but just wanted you to be prepared.
"I agree "
Posted by kaz80 13 March at 23:21

i agree i think you should be prepared but i don't want to frighten you. If you read my previous posts you'll see what i've been through. Basically i had a missed miscarraige at 11 weeks and the baby died at 6 weeks , i decided to do things the natural way because i had just started bleeding lightly. I thought i was going to be one of the lucky ones and get away with not much bleeding but a few days later it got really heavy and i started with contractions. To cut a very long story short i spent most of the day on the toilet flushing away blood and clots, if i didn't i would have filled a pad every 2 mins, my doctor was a waste of time so i phoned nhs direct and they told me to go to hospital because of the amount of blood loss. I fainted when i got there and was put on a drip and monitored over night. I was fine the next day and they had managed to get the last of the clots out without D&C. It took about 2 weeks for the light bleeding to stop after that and am now waiting for my first period so we can try again. Please don't get scared by this everyone is different but i just want to let you know what extreme cases can be like and if you feel that you start bleeding too heavy like a pad an hour then go to the hospital thats what they are there for. I was very angry when this happened to me because i didn't know what was happening or what to expect. Hope everything goes ok for you. Good luck and sorry for being so graphic and truthful. Hope it was helpful though.
"Miscarriage advice"

Hi i miscarried at 12 weeks on jan 11th, I found out 2 weeks before that it was going to happen. I had been spotting from jan 1st, Then i woke up on the morning of the 11th. lost a lot of blood, clots and labour type pains until i passed everthing. Quite awful. Just want you to be prepared just in case.
In some cases i hear it all gets reabsorbed and you just have like a period. Depends on the person i expect.
What does your doc asy?
Any further questions, dont hesitate to ask. Take care
I know how hard it is xxx
"Miscarriage advise"
Posted by pamlang 14 June at 20:48

For those of you who want to know, I had a very painful miscarriage. Sat, light spotting. Sun, heavy brown bleeding - went to emergency and they said my cervix was still closed - might be a threatened miscarriage. Mon - had 1st ultrasound. My husband and i were devasted when we found out that the fetus was about 6 weeks - i was almost 12 weeks at the time. Got home later and started to experience heavy lower back pain and lower cramping. Tues I went to my GP,she suggested I go and get a D&C as I had a blighted ovum. Couldn't get an appointment til wed, so by Tues night I had experienced the worst pain. It was like sharp contractions in my lower abdomin and lower back. I took extra strength acetominaphin, had no effect. All night I was in extreme pain - finally at 330 in the morning I extracted what looked like uncooked liver in the toilet. With every contraction I took a push and something gross came out. I even stopped flushing the toilet every time I went, as the blood was coming out so fast. By 6am I went to emergency, I couldn't even stand up the pain was so bad! Finally, I was relieved when they gave me a shot of morphin and later at 2pm I was scheduled for a D&C. Now, the day later, I still have mild cramps but nothing compared to the previous day and night. I know this may not happen to everyone, but some women out there, like myself, may be totally unaware of how to prepare for this kind of pain. For anyone who now tells me they have had a miscarriage - i can certainly say "I feel their pain."
"Similar situation"
Posted by careyrunner 13 February at 22:18

Hi girls,

I too was in a similar situation where i knew about two weeks before it happened that i was going to have a misscarriage, as the baby had stopped growing and HCG blood levels were dropping. I was 10 weeks pregnant as well.

I started spotting on a thursday, brownish discharge (Sorry if TMI), then saturday got heavier and red, then by saturday night pain, pain, pain and very heavy bleeding with clots. then bleeding without clots till the next tuesday.

Hopefully for your sake you dont have to go through the same.

"Need info"
Posted by jonathonmelanie 5 March at 22:28

Hi everyone! I have been reading the stories about the miscarriages and I have a few questions if any of you ladies could answer and please respond quick, my nerves are all twisted!

I am 8 weeks pregnant and I started light bleeding about 2 weeks ago with dime size clots, the doctor did a ultrasound and saw the heartbeat and took my HCG levels and they were going up, they say its normal for some women to bleed. I am still bleeding though and I won't get another ultrasound untill the 12th of March. Have any of you heard of this and the baby be fine? Also, how did you ladies know that you were going to miscarry before it happened?

Thanks for any info.

Please respond ASAP!
"7.5 week "miscarriage""
Posted by reachdenise 29 October at 01:27

Hi There,
I had some brownish-pink spotting 4 days ago and called the nurse...went in the next day for an ultra sound and the dr. said, "things aren't progressing normally". All that was visible was a thickend uterine lining. He said it was possible it was too early to see anything, but I knew it wasn't too early and also that something was wrong.

I had nausea, fatigue, constipation, & swollen, sore breats, before I was even late for my period. A week BEFORE I started to spot, those pregnancy symptoms just disappeared. Literally - "poof" they were gone one morning and didn't come back.

They drew blood for a HCG level after the ultra sound and I have to have it drawn again tomorrow so they can compare. 2nd Ultra sound is scheduled 3 days later to take a second look and find out exactly what's going on.

I have had super light spotting here and there throughout the day and just today, got some pretty moderate cramps and sharp pains for a couple hours, then they subsided. I am just waiting to gush blood and be in pain. I so want to get this all over with...

My support goes out to all of you and I wish everyone luck with their future pregnancies....my fingers are crossed for all of us.

xo Denise (from Michigan)
