This is my 2nd m/c and its totally different to my 1st, with my 1st I had bright red blood at a heavy flow with clots from the beginning & cramps.
With this 2nd m/c the blood was quite heavy & I lost 2 clots for the 1st 2 days, now its slowed to a normal period & the bleed is brown & rather thick. Theres no more clots has of yet, no pain at all only slight back ache, I know the 2 clots I lost werent the baby because I had a scan 2 days after them & the baby was still in there. Ive been bleeding for 8 days now, 6 of them havent been anything like my 1st m/c.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any replies
A very worried Hellen x

Hope you are doing ok. Its hard to no what is going on in there and what is happening. I had a scan last week that showed everything had come away and then since thursday I have been bleeding really heavy and passing clots so god only knows what that is. I would get in touch with your doctor and tell hime what s going on and he should refer you for another scan to see whats going on. Take care hun. Vic xxx

don't know how much help this will be but I didn't lose anything identifiable with any of mine if that makes sense. Know it's not very nice to put it like this and I hope it doesn't upset you but I had the brown, thick stuff and wonder if maybe our bodies sort of break down any solid matter and that's why we don't necessarily lose anything we can identify. You do need to be careful, have they offered you a further scan or blood tests to check your hcg level is coming down as it should? They didn't with me and a hpt was still showing positive weeks after so it obviously took a good while for everything to come away and this can cause infection. It didn't with me but it still took 2 periods to completely clear everything and I probably should have had a d&c by rights but my hospital are crap and didn't even check on me afterwards so just keep an eye on things. Any unusual pain or nasty smells and you really should get it checked, might be as well to see your GP just to be on the safe side. Hope you're doing ok in yourself, doesn't make it any easier when you're not sure what's happening physically does it. Let me know how things go hun, take care of yourself.
Lotsa love, Clare xxx

Hiya, thanks for your replies. Im hoping that this thick brown fluid is the break down of what was inside, last time the blood was bright red & clottly but this time its like the tissue & remains inside are coming away together. The nurse assured me not everyone loses loose blood & clots, thats just our bodies way of making sure we dont bleed to death, it can come away in a different form. I think im going to go back to my gp has the epu hasnt booked me in for a rescan & just basically said 'let us know how you go on so we dont have to keep your file longer than its needed & normal home pregnancy tests in 2-3 week will tell you if its complete, If not we'll see you back' so im hoping my gp will offer better advice has to the actual miscarriage & if this is normal. Thanks again.
