I think I've probably missed you hun - just seen this but will hang about for a bit incase you are still there....

I don't know what would be a sign of it being an emergency, I guess if you get really doubled up with pain then thats a sign worth ringing for help, I just recall (sorry - here comes far TMI) with mine that it was a constant flow for about 45 mins but the sac was about half an hour into it... I found hot water bottle helped with the pain tho.

I hope you're OK hun, xxxxxxx

Hiya,
after 3 weeks of losing brown blood with no pain tonight this m/c has taken on a new low. The pains & blood started instantly, ive lost quite a bit already & the pains r pretty strong, is there anything I should be looking for that lead to this turning into an emergency?

im pretty scared to say this is my 2nd time, its totally different to my 1st. Anyone willing to talk im listening

If the bleeding gets heavy such as soaking through towels in like minutes then you need to go to A&E.The pain can be horrendous but you can take paracetamol and ibrufen together.I was advised to take 2 of each when it was bad but no more than a couple of doses every six hours.

I am hoping that you are feeling better physically this morning.

"Hiya ladies"

Hiya Ladies,
last night the flow & pain came on thick & fast & within 10 mins of taking paracetamol the pain was absolute agony (it was identical to the pains I had giving birth to Della about half hour before I was fully dialted & ready to push) I totally didnt see that coming, so hubby rung for an ambulance, I immediatly demanded Gas & Air, which sorted me out. When the paramedic told me to lift my bum in the air off the bed to put a waste pad underneath me I felt something move & the pains instantly disappeared, by the time they moved me to the ambulance there was no pain at all. In A&E I went to the toilet for a wee & I lost a huge clot, this was the baby, it was really strange because there was veins coming off it with mini clots attached (sorry this is tmi but if it helps someone identify what they are going through in the future then its a good thing) after that they literally took me off the bed & made me sit outside in A&E with all the drunks, I was there 5 hours & nobody came to see me, in the early hours this morning I came home absolutely exhausted, hungry & daughter starved, I couldnt wait to get home to her (mum had let her sleep in our bed so it was bliss to climb into bed for a snuggle with my 2 year old)

This morning EPU have said do a pregnancy test at the end of the week & if its negative everything came out but if its positive they'll rescan me. So now im looking forward to tucking into a easter feast roast & dairy milk egg & getting some serious rest. After 3 weeks of losing brown thick fluids & some real mental torture of knowing my baby was inside me but not alive its such a relief to have got the episode over & done with (even though it was painful & traumatic) Now I feel like I can draw a line under it & start to grieve.Weve decided we arent going to start TTC again for the forseeable future, fortunatly im only 24 & theres no rush for us.

Thanks so much for your replies & being there, your all angels on this forum x

P.S My blood during the 3 weeks m/c was brown & thick but never black, Ive known ladies to have this before & they were fine, maybe its worth calling the NHS direct for some advice, if your feeling physically well besides the colour of the blood then I wouldnt panick too much but if your get a fever, sickness or a bad smell from your pads then I would book to be seen by your gp or early pregnancy unit has it could be that you have an infection which can be treated either by antibiotics or a D&C. I hope this helps & take care x
