I am sorry to hear of your miscarriage and hope you are coping as well as can be expected.
I believe you can do an early pregnancy test around 10 days after you conceived, although I appreciate that is difficult. An HCG of 50 is very low and should have dropped back to normal by now. I hope things work out as you want them too and if you are pregnant, that all goes well and you both stay safe and healthy.
I had a missed miscarriage where i was told the baby died when i had my 12 week scan. I had a very complicated evacuation which resulted in me needing to go back to theatre another twice as I haemorraged and was in hospital for 10 days. It is now 4 weeks and 4 days since the operation and I too am wondering when I am likely to have a period and feel much the same way as you do.
good luck

Hi I was looking for some info for myself when I saw yr post. My friend has just given birth to a beautiful baby girl who she conceived in the same situation as yourself. She had a miscarriage around 6 weeks and lucky thing managed to fall pregnant before her period returned. There were no complications at all. Hope everything works out well for you.

"3rd pregnancy in 3 months" Posted by xxdanielle09xx 24 May at 13:35
Hi,
I very much hopr that not waiting after m/c doesnt increase the risk of it happening again.
i m/c at 5+2 on the 16th march 07, i then fell pregnant straight after and m/c again at 2 weeks on 16th April 07. That was my last period i had made my doctor refer me to see if there was a reson for my m/c by the time my appointment came up i was pregnant again.
This ment i have not had a normal period since 7th feb07!! im now 5weeks 3 days and i feel slightly different this time my symptons seem alot stronger and i am praying everything will work out this time.
its the most scary thing to go through i spend most of my time running to the loo checking for blood and every cramp or back pain terrifys me that it is happening again. I think i had set myself up for another fall but as time go's on i cant help but get start to get attached now so i will just hope and pray.
good luck to everyone x

"2nd miscarriage after normal pregnancy" Posted by clpdorset 27 April at 17:08
Hi
I hope you don't mind me asking how you are getting on and how many weeks you are now.
Same as you I had a miscarriage 6 weeks ago and today I've done a positive test. I'm not sure if I will be 4, 5 or 6 weeks??? How confusing.
As I have had miscarriages before, I've normally had 6 weeks between miscarriage and next period, which sort of tells me that I ovalate 4 weeks after miscarrying.
Did you have to find out from a dating scan exactly how many weeks you were?
I look forward to hearing from you soon. x

Hi, I had a miscarriage on New Years day while I was in abroad. I had a D&C n the 10 January 2007. I have not had a period since. I have done 2 pregnancy tests in the last week and both were positive. I have been searching the web for advice and feel a little lost. The doctor said I probably am pregnant but I waiting for a letter from the hospital to go for a scan. I am a little scared as I am feeling cramps but all the other signs are that I am pregnant. Fingers crossed x

"Pregnant after miscarriage" Posted by jdonabie 19 February at 15:23
Hi I am currently experiencing the same situation. I am now 11 weeks pregant after suffering two miscarriages in the last year. On this pregnancy I did not have a normal!! period either. I also lost naturally at 6 weeks on both. I was advised by my consultant that 1 in 5 women will experience 1 miscarriage and that 1 in 6 will have 2 recurrent miscarriages. Make sure you are being scanned as early as possible if there is an early pregnancy clinic in your area. I have been scanned from week6 every fortnight and touch wood things are ok so far. However I do not think the fear of miscarriage ever goes away once it happens to you. Make sure you have lots of support. Have you had counselling after your miscarriage as I found this helped me greatly. ALso the Miscarriage Association are brilliant as they have up to date info. Good luck and take care

"Don't panic" Posted by florencerusty 19 February at 15:05
In June (26th) I miscarried an unconfirmed pregnancy. I ovulated between 7th and 10th of July and caught immediately. There was no time for a period! My baby is now due in 7 weeks. No reason to think there is any increased risk. Good luck

"I'm still panicing myself..." Posted by 2ndtimemum1 31 July at 22:13
I lost my baby at 8 weeks strangely it was the same day that a child in Portugal disappeared too 3rd May 07...I got pregnant immediately after my miscarriage and luckily have a self referral Early Pregnancy Unit, where I have gone twice to check if all is well. Initially I went there to find out how far gone I was because I did not know when I conceived. I already have a healthy daughter should have a sibling for their 5th birthday as I am almost 12 weeks and so far so good my Nuchal scan is on 9th August. So it can happen...the only thing I say now with hindsight is that the grief and loss made me want to get pregnant immediately after my miscarriage. I found out almost 6 weeks after my miscarriage that I was pregant (I did a test 4 weeks after and it was negative and re-did it at 6 weeks)and I wasn't ready for the fear that I am having from one day to the next. I wish I waited a little longer when I was more mentally ready for the emotional rollercoaster I am on right now. My partner is very supportive and I tell him exactly what I'm feeling and do not keep things bottled up. I am grateful for the 2nd chance I have been given and look forward to meeting my healthy baby.
