Just wanted to return to this forum to tell you my story again. I had a missed miscarriage in June last year. Found out at my 12 week scan that the baby had died at 8 weeks. I was heartbroken. I had medical management and after lots of complications which the hospital sorted quickly and loads of support from my husband managed to cope just...

I left it to have a normal period afterwards and then we started trying again the next month. Then at the end of August I found out I was pregnant again - so it had worked immediately. We were so happy but scared too. Managed to get a scan at 8 weeks by bluffing which helped reassure us and going to the 12 week scan was petrifying but all was ok. Suffered really badly with morning sickness this time and ended up with severe dehydration in hospital but it was all worth it.

I now have a beautiful baby daughter called Hannah who is 5 weeks old. Every time I look at her I can't believe she's mine.

I'll never forget the baby that we lost and the pain we went through but holding my baby now makes it all go away.

I hope this message gives you some hope and shows that there can be a happy ending.

Take care,

Anne x x x

"It was hard..."

I did worry alot but having the scans made me feel better. Had terrible morning sickness that they say is a good sign but even then that didn't completely reassure me.

My OH was more positive than me and got upset that I found it hard to be positive. I guess we just coped differently. I almost prepared myself for the worse all the time whereas he was the opposite.

It got better when I was about 5 months pregnant. I was very wary of buying anything for the baby until after that. Plus the other good thing is hearing the babies heartbeat at every appt with midwife.

Did have further worries as I was high risk for downs syndrome so after we found that out worried about that as well! We didn't have an amnio as couldn't face the risk of miscarrying a healthy baby and I'm glad we didn't risk it now. My midwife says that all mums to be worry - just about different things and it's completely normal. Don't feel guilty about it!

Still after all that worrying - I have a beautiful healthy daughter and even though it was hard I would do it all again definitely.

Hope you are lucky next time and wish you all the best,

Love, Anne x x x
