"Bleeding after d & e"

I had a D & E yesterday morning and have had no bleeding today at all- just small amount of spotting when I wipe. Is this normal? Other people seem to bleed for a week or so.

I think its normal all depends on you i suppose, I had mine i was bleeding heavily but within 3 days it had stopped completely and even immediately after it had practically stopped. I think once theyve taken everything out and its a complete m/c there shouldnt be much bleeding. Everyone is different. Some people have really heavy 1st period after m/c but mine was actually lighter than it had been before i was pregnant and lasted only a few days. So dont worry just watch out for any unusual changes and youll be fine

Thanks for your reply. It has reassured me. All kinds of strange thoughts go through your head after a miscarriage that stop you thinking logically.

Thanks again.

I think I've spoken too soon. I've had quite a bit of pain today that has been more localised and 'stabby' and radiating through my left hip. I'm sure it's normal.Maybe this thing will stop and start a bit while it settles down. I've still got very minimal amounts of blood.
Just want it all to be over so we can start trying for another baby. My Hcg levels still seem to be very high though- a few symptoms are still with me. I know I've got to wait for them to go back down before I'm hopefully fertile again.
"Dont worry"

I have to say i didnt have any pain once id had it done, they gave me like codein or whatever but i didnt need it, had small bleeding but no pain at all. They didnt do any checks on me hcg levels and all but it took a while for body to go back to normal. Weirdest thing was when it was like i was lactating and leaking i was worried about that but it settled down after a week or so. Only thing i worried about was infection just check for unusual discharge and a bad smell. I read up that its best not to have sex for 2-3 weeks or whatever it was after DnC as could cause an infection so i stuck by that, by that time body was more settled any way and bleeding stopped entirely. I still decided to wait to try again, not because i believe you have to and theres so much conflicting information i say do what you feel. I just felt better personally and 2 months later im pregnant again, so good luck!
