Hi all,
After having a m/c then on to have a d&c 2 weeks ago.
For some reason...I don't know why,I did a pregnancy test....knowing that I'm NOT pregnant. It came up with 2 red lines???? I have not had sex since d&c...so I definetly know that I am not pregnant. What I wanted to know. Do I still have pregnancy hormones in me or has my blood levels not dropped???? And if so,how long is this likely to last for?
I am keen to start trying again, but concerned that when I do test again. I don't know if I will be pregnant or not.
I don't know if this makes much sense to you.... If it does, please any info would be great.

not sure how the D&C affects things cos all my m/c's happened naturally but do know that hormone levels don't always drop straight away so that's why you're still testing positive. In my case I still had a little pregnancy tissue left in my womb and this took a while to come away so I was still testing positive several weeks later, awful cos I didn't know that could happen and thought I'd fallen pregnant again straight away. Don't know whether the same could be happening with you seeing as you had the D&C but suppose it's possible, only needs to be a tiny amount to release the hcg hormone and that's what preg tests pick up. The only thing I can advise is that you repeat the test every few days until you get a negative, know some girls on here have been advised at hospital to do this and think it's the only way to know for sure. Know it's not nice to have to keep thinking about testing when you know you're not pregnant but if you're anxious to try again it's probably the best way, at least you'll know where you are. Just a thought as well, testing like this can get expensive so try babymad.com for cheap tests, they do 10 ultra sensitive tests for £4.89 so gotta be cheaper than the supermarket. Good luck hun, know things can't be easy for you at the mo but it does get easier with time.

Lotsa love,
Clare xxx

Thanks for your prompt reply Clare!
I know that I am definetly NOT pregnant...so it must be pregnancy tissue thats left over. I would have thought that having a d&c would take EVERYTHING away....its confusing!!!!
I would hate to keep trying for it 2 come out positive when I'm not.
I will repeat the tests as you advised...thanks
Have you heard of POUNDLAND? They do pregnancy tests there, you get 3 tests strips for a £1. At first I thought for at that price, they must be something wrong with them...but no. I have used them in my last pregnancys and they were spot on. I always have a wee stash of them in my bathroom cupboard. I have seen some at my local chemist for £9.99, which is very expensive...just to pee on them...lol.
Get yourselves to Poundland...3 for a £1...lol

Get the Poundland tests. They are just as good as the expensive branded ones. The same type of testing strip is inside the plastic packaging of the expensive ones. x x

Hi Tracy
So you go to Poundland to? I love the shop, I can spend up to £60 in one go.....not in pregnancy tests, lol
So is it the same tests they use in the expensive ones? I always wondered what the £9.99 ones were like. If like me,you can become a bit obsessive about ttc...you can go through loads.
Take care.x
