I had an abortion when I was 17 and felt exactly the same. Since then every year I have felt sad on the day I had the abortion and always thought how old he/she would be now and what they would be doing. My brother had his first baby just a few months later who is now six and I adore, but do still think of the cousin he could of had from time to time.

It does get easier as time goes by, and now I am currently facing the possibility of a second abortion I am making sure I remember all those feelings and my partner is aware of them too.

I just wanted to be able to get all those thoughts out of my head at the time but I think you do have to 'mourn' in someway and will always have a special place for what you experienced, but please find hope in knowing it does get better and more positive thoughts like knowing it was the right thing and how different your life will have been. Make the most of the decision you made and enjoy life. xxx
