I am 7 1/2 weeks pregnant with dichorionic-diamniotic twins...? No idea what that means. Are the any complications with a twin abortion?

Dichorionic-diamniotic just means that your twins are not identical, that you released two eggs which your partner fertilised and these two eggs planted themselves separately in your womb. They might not even be the same gender, you might be carrying a little brother and sister, or two girls or two boys.

I think twins are something really special. You know they dont happen to everyone.

Hun, is there any way you would consider carrying your babies to term and either keeping them or giving them up for adoption? I know it is a big ask, maybe you are not ready to be a mum just now, maybe your partner is not ready to be a dad, whatever the difficulties, and I am sure they are big, you have two little babies in your womb whose future is being decided now.

If you give them up for adoption you can specify that they stay together, so that they will always have each other, no matter what happens.

Please give this some more thought.

Take care
Siobhan

ive just read you post and i feel for you. i am having my abortion on Wednesday and im really not looking forward to it. i was never given the option of being put to sleep and will be awake throughout the whole thing with just a local anaesthetic. i really dont want to be awake through it but have no choice. this is such a hard decision that i have had to make and i really dont know how id feel in your position having to do it for two. i have people all round me asking me how i feel and am i sure im doing the right thing. but the truth is i really dont know i feel so numb about it all. but i wish you all the luck and love in the world. take care xx

Thanks for clarifying that for me. I am still confused over twin abortions. Are there any complications with the procdure? Will I be able to take the pill with twins? Does the length of time you can have an abortion alter if you are carrying two?
Siobhan, I thank you for your advice, but I have made up my mind. It has been a hard decision, so I would be grateful if you did not make it any harder.

I am not 100% so you will need to discuss this with your Doctor before coming to a decision however I have had the operation, it really is very simple (I won't explain because it is not very nice) but, I can't see why there would be any problems with that method.

You are asleep in a room full of medical professionals and when you wake up it is all over.

How far gone are you? Have you discussed this with anyone close to you?
