Hi,

I am not a medical professional, but as far as I know the first pill cuts off the nutrients to the child, thus killing it. The second pill causes you to expel the child.

"Abortion pil reliable ? "

Ok i have question from something i was told and am curious about.
A friend became pregnant unplanned, the "relationship" was very young and had it up and downs.
So she decided to abort, even though she was against it.
Her doctor told her to think very hard about what she was about to do.
And asked her to think about it for a week.
Which she did, the week after she went back and supposedly took a pill there.
Though now she says she had a blood test to see if she was still pregnant.
So i was thinking could it be even possible that she still is ?

I am not sure how the whole process works.
You take 1 pill at the doctor and another later on within 24-48 hours?
Whats the point of the second pill? and could not taking that one cause the whole thing to not work?

Can somebody enlighten me on this, because its confusing to me.

Hi there,

I have sadly went through the abortion pill procedure in December 2007. It was the most painful thing I have ever experienced.....I have had a surgical abortion 5 years ago and that wasn't half as bad.

Basically you go to your first visit and take 1 pill which stops the pregnancy. 24-48 hours later you take 4 tiny pills which in 4 hours later makes you starts the miscarriage.

I was in agony for 4 hours contractions every 20 mins as though I was going into labour.
I then started bleeding after about an hour after having the pains.

Then at 3pm the following day I then miscarried. If you are thinking about termination I would say consider the surgical its over in 10 mins and alot less painful.

Hope this helps x

They told me that the first one is a hormaonal. it said on the NHS website that it makes the lining of the womb unsuitable for a fertilized egg. Then the second one causes ur uterus to contract and expal the pregnancy as they call it. They also gave me two pregnancy tests and told me to do one in about 3 weeks time to make sure it has worked. If you have a positive test then you have to go back.I had to go to a special clinic for the pills.Hope that may have helped

I would go to NHS direct and look up information about this.

I have never used that method but it does sound suspect. I didn't think they gave the pill out at the GP's surgery .. I still though you had to go to a clinic??
