"Maybe pregnant?"

Ok just after some advice really. Me and my boyfriend had sex around the time i'd of been ovulating. He pulled out but ejaculated on my vagina what do you think the chances of me being pregnant are? My period hasnt been as regular as it was before having my son in January but im on day 35 now which is my longest cycle since January. Theyre normally between 30 and 34 days. I have been full of a cold for a few days so im hoping that and worrying is making it late as theres no way we could have another child yet. I'd feel so selfish if i was pregnant but i would be having an abortion. Even though im terrified of being put to sleep, its one of my biggest fears. I just need someone to chat to really as i havent told anyone yet and am too scared to do a pregnancy test as silly as it sounds.

Hi yes there is defo a posability you are pregnant sperm can swim up to the egg from anywhere on your vagina but it is a slim chance but still possiable sometimes if you set your mind up so much to think your pregnant your body acts as if it is pregnant (doc told me this as ive had it). I dont mean to judge as it isnt my place im not perfect but do you have any reasons not to use contreception ?? i cant use anything and its a nightmare. Just do a test and it will be all over and done with the more you leave it the worse it will get its very unlikley you are pregnant just remember whilst your buying and doing the test itll help calm you, but you do need to find out asap because if you are pregnant you say you want an abortion and the longer the pregnany the more chance you may get refused for a termination and the process is much more difficult for you the bigger the feotus is
Good luck

Hi

I understand that this is a worrying time for you. If none of the semen passed into your vagina I would say it is unlikely that you are pregnant. Being full of cold and flu and worrying may have disturbed your cycle patterns and given that your cycles are between 30-34 days there is a chance of them still being out by a few days.

I would wait until day 45 and if no period, visit your GP instead of doing a home pregnancy test. That way you will know exactly what is going on (whether you are pregnant or other factors affecting your cycles) and then you can discuss your options at the same time, instead of worrying and plucking up the courage to go to the GP etc.

As for considering abortion, please bear in mind that your are doing what is right for your child, not for yourself. Try not to think of yourself as selfish. If it is not the right the time or circumstances it is better to address that rather than bring a child into the world at the wrong time. You would not be selfish for doing right by your child.

Anyway, first things first. Wait for 45 days and see what happens. If you feel that you cannot do that as you will worry too much, weigh up what you would feel more comfortable with. Waiting a few more days or going to the GP right away.

I hope I have made some sense. I wish you luck. Best wishes xx

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm not 100% sure if semen passed into my vagina or not to be honest which is whats making me so worried. I'll wait a few more days like you said.
There is no way me and my partner could have another child just yet. Our son is only 9 months old and we live in a very tiny 2 bedroomed rented house which we can only just afford. We would like other children in the future but now is too soon. Ok im starting to babble of a bit now but i appreciate the advice
"Thinking of you"

Hi there,
I thought I would reply to your message even though it's probably not the advice you're looking for. I saw your message a couple of days ago, and saw you were thinking about an abortion and because of that thought I wouldn't say anything, but I've thought about it, and at least if I get it off my chest, then you can decide either way. I just wanted to say that the Catholic Church makes provisions for girls who are in your circumstances. The SVP society can provide things you need to get you through this time. There are ways through this. You don't have to dispose of your child. Don't be scared about it. If you are pregnant, remember - and I know this is going to be controversial but I'm saying it anyway, remember your child will always be there for you in your old age, perhaps he or she will be something you have always wanted to be. Finally, I really wouldn't want you to regret such an immense thing. It seems easy 'having an abortion'. The term itself takes away the fact that your son / daughter is growing inside of your womb - that is the truth, if you are pregnant and if you let your child live, you will surely be blessed.
Very best wishes, you're in my prayers, and I hope i've not upset too many people, but I have to be honest.
Louise
