hi iam on my second implant having had no ill effects with the first. however,ltly have felt movement and boobs have got bigger too. been tired and getting big belly has anyone fell preg while still got it in. iam forty and already have six.its been five years since my last child. iam too embarrassed to go to the doc in case they think iam mad and isnt it spose to b 99.9% effective so i feel dumb even mentioning it but the movements are not stopping and i dont know what to do.help anyone who has been thru this please reply. i feel like i am going crazy.

i've had the implanon in for 2 years now and the past few weeks have been getting symptoms of pregnancy. my boobs are sore, my stomach is rock hard, i've been feeling nauseous, moody, tired, no sex drive.i've done 2 hpt's both neg. test done at family planning clinic but also neg. my friend who has had a child says that the sympyoms i am having def sound like pregnancy. she had a feel of my stomach and says that altho she's not a doc it feels like her's did wen she was pregnant. i haven't had a period since gtn the implant in sept 06 and im now starting to look like i have a bump! pls help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im in the same situation as you, i got my inplant put in March 07, and hadnt had any problems untill recently. I was in an abusive relationship with a man who regularly hit me, one day in march this year he hit me in the arm, and ever sice i have been able to bend my implanon.

in the last month i have had strange butterfly feelings in my stomach, and just one bleed in 4 months, which was fine, untill 2 weeks ago when i noticed breast milk leeking out of my nipple and also excess weight just around my stomach. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests in the last month, which have all come back negative. However i have visited my doctor today and has asked me to take a further pregnancy test tomorow morning and return back to him first thing.

I am terrified that i am pregnant again, as i had an abortion last year and dont think it would be fair on the other child if i choose to keep this possible child.

Has anybody else had the same side effects including the leakage of breast milk?

I've been doing some reading to put my own mind at rest.
It appears that with Implanon working by making the body think it is pregnant the mind often then does the same.

After having my implant inserted in July last year (just over 12 months ago) and being on the pill up until the time of insertion (during menses) there really is no chance I could be pregnant from a "slip-up".

I too have had pregnancy-like symptoms since soon after insertion. I was so pleased to be the lucky percentage that no longer experiences a period and also happy about my increased breast-size.

My sane side tells me I cannot be pregnant but there is that doubt, so I too have performed home pregnancy tests and gained negative results.
Apparently HCG is at it's highest between 8-11 weeks at which point it begins to decrease and testing for HCG via a urine test is not recommended before 14 days as a reading of less than 5% will give a negative result.

As I rarely see my partner it is fairly simple to work out dates. Each time I have tested it would have shown on a test. The most recent test I took because I had symptoms similar to morning sickness for over 3 weeks & my breasts had increased in size again. It was again negative.

Yes I have had those fluttery feelings and even stronger in my abdomen, however it would appear to only be the awareness for pregnancy symptoms drawing my attention to it, in the end it is probably only normal bodily functions taking place.

Hope this puts many minds to rest about their own symptoms experienced with the aid of Implanon. It certainly is not unheard of to fall pregnant with Implanon inserted or using any other form of contraception though with Implanon at least you can't forget to use/take it. So when it is all said and done if in doubt see your GP.

I know what it feels like to be pregnant-
And latelt ive had the same feelings!
my boobs feel bigger and very sore just as before-
also ive put on weight from size 8 now a 10 my belly feels bloated an i dont know if im just being paranoid or what?

im sixteen and i had my son in january then in i got implanon put in in mid march i had just finished my period when i got it and ever since then i haven't had my period and i had some spotting about 5 days after i got implanon but it was light and only last 3 days. i have taken two home pregnancy tests and they say negative but i continue to feel pregnant my stomach feels like it did when i was pregnant and i have been getting sick like i use to in the first trimester and so many things that make me worry. i went to my doctors and took another test and they were very worried but it has been 5 days and they still haven't called so i don't know what that means but if i would have known having to stress about being pregnant was a side affect of implanon i would have never got it

Hi im glad you posted this message as ive posted 1 similar.Im on the implant, been on it for 6 months and in this time ive been on near enough for the whole time.now ive been off for a whole month, boobs have gone bigger and they hurt, ive put on a few pounds 2.my last propper period was 1st april but then i had 1 day of light bleeding on the 27th so i thought i was fine.ive taken tests and they say negative but i just feel pregnant.I have a 2 year old and i felt like this with him.
do not know what to do :0(
sorry if i have been to detailed for anybody but i just wanted to give them the best idea so they could help me.

WOW, I am going through this now. I have had my implanon implant in since March 07 and have been having loads of symptoms lately, I keep thinking I am crazy as the dr told me only 1 in 1000 women get preg when they use implanon. Humm, I think they should do mre research into this I am going to do a hpt tomorrow. I have heartburn something rotton, I am constantly tired, my boobs seem massive, and my tummy seems harder like it did when I was pregnant with my 2year old.

I had the implanon put in over a month ago and haven't had any side effects, but i haven't spotted and haven't had a period. After reading everyones messages i'm starting to worry if i'm pregnant. I didn't know it was such a common thing. My husband and i only waited two days before having unprotected sex cuz thats how long my doctor said to wait but after reading up on implanon it doesn't seem like we waited long enough. my main worry is that if i am pregnant that it might hurt the baby. What should i do? someone please help me!

i am on the implanon it was implanted in september and now i am 7 months pregnant. i just found out a week ago. i am forty years old. my youngest is 15. go to the doctor to be sure. don't be embrassed it is better to know. i have nothing considering my children all almost grown. i am looking into getting a lawyer to find out why this happened to me. i am not stable at the time financially to take care of child. i would really go to the doctor. please keep in touch and i will do the same.

You said that you cant financially take care of the baby,have you thought about giving the baby to someone who wants one that cant?I have every thing I need when I say every thing Imean everything all Ineed is the baby and get formula,I have diapers,clothes(boys,girls)toy s baby bed,playpens,swing,walker.chan gingtable,blankets,s-heets,eve rything but the baby and formula like Isaid.I got fixed Dec.21.1989 and regret doing it every sincy,but that is what the kids wanted.Now im with another guy I have been with every since 1990 we cant afford that much money all up front.I look on the side of the road,in boxes all of the time trying to find a baby because I cant afford the big lump sum all at once.

Hi, I read your message and feel the same. I have had implanon three times before and last had it fitted in March after the birth of my fourth child. However, I didn't wait the seven days - in fact did it the first night it was fitted and now I could be 17 weeks pregnant. I can feel movement, am tired, boobs are bigger but think I might be going mad as I want another baby but my husband wants the chop!

I'm also too scared to go to the doctors but did a test last week which was negative. My friend said that the more pregnant you are, the less hormone is in your system, so only a blood test would show a pregnancy. Have you found yet whether you are pregnant or not?

i had the implanon put in after i had my first child in 2005 and after approx 5 months i was pregnant again they told me it was very rare to get preg on implanon but it's just not true and with my first child i took 7 test and they all said neg still didnt feel right so i got the doc to examine my cervix and b'cause it was closed he told me i was preg thats how i found out (5 months gone) i would advise you to see you doctor cos when i got pregnant on the implanon i didnt get it removed in time and i lost my baby i wouldnt wish that on anyone so pls go see your doctor its the best thing you can do

I have had my implant for 1.5 yrs but recently had chicken pox 2 months ago and was very poorly , i went to the doctors after that cleared up as i kept feeling dizzy and sick , didnt even ask if i was pregnant. I didnt think it could be but now im not so sure im feeling sick all day every day the smell of food is repulsive im tired all the time and have bad heartburn, i didnt have sickness with my other pregnancies. Im really worried now that because i was unwell that the implant was not working , i have taken 2 testa so far and both where negative but there is no other explination , im wondering if the implant could interfere with the tests????

i had an accident when i was 18 so they put the implamon in me i was the experimant apparently but this was nearly 10 years ago it was in my arm for 5 years i had it out 3 years ago i suffered hardly no period only now over the past year and now im 4 weeks preg they told me its impossible on the implant to get preg so check. but its taken me 2 years to get preg xx

I have had implanon in for about 2,5years and never had many problems or side-effects. But for the last few weeks I've been feeling really "odd". that's the best way to describe it. My boobs are really sore, my stomach is bloated, I feel tired all the time and I've put on a little weight. I thought I might be getting my period, but nothing. So I took a HPT just to make sure and it came out negative. But I'm not sure if I should trust it or not. Maybe they're just weird side-effects and it's all in my head. But I don't see why I'd start feeling this way all of a sudden unless there was a real reason. I'm only 23years old, so being pregnant wouldn't be the most practical thing in the world, but I'm too scared to go to the doctors, just like you. I worry they'd just think I was imagining things. Doctors have seen it all ... and they are there to help, even if it is just to reassure. One thing most doctors tend to be great at is making you feel comfortable about saying whatever it is that will help them to help you. This is your life. That is their job. One short visit, even considering the 5 minutes of embarassment is surely worth it, compared to a lifetime with a new person in your family. Please see your doctor - and if you prefer, see a doctor you don't usually see - that may help set your mind at ease. The family doctor doesn't even have to know, if that is a concern.

I am off to the docs in an hour for the same thing. Been on implanon since last october. Have baby like movement for the past week took three tests all negative thought maybe it was just gas but then last night in bed i could feel it whichever side i lay.

I spoke to someone in gyne dept at local hospital this morning who said implanon shouldnt affect a pregnancy test result so i am confused anyway I will see what light the doc can shed!
