Spific implanon pregnancy issue?

Ok so I've been searching around for the answer to this everywhere.
I am currently 17. I had the implant put in in january and had a light period at the end of the month. Since then I haven't had a single period. I've had no problems or side affects with it at all but about 3 weeks ago I started to feel unusual.

Firstly I got cystitis which I've still got. Along with that I also got slight thrush. I've never had cystitis before and didn't think much of it until I also started feeling frequently peeing, feeling dizzy, sickness and falling asleep all the time. I have also had constipation and incredibly bad gas (too much information). So I thought oh ... what if I'm pregnant. My abdoman is quite swollen and I'm experiencing pains in my overy area (left side)

So I'm unsure if I'm pregnant.
A lot of signs point towords it but surely its impossible if I'm on the implant plus not having periods with it.

Has anyone ever got pregnant on the implant even though they've never had a period on it?

Don't panic

Hey, I'm 20 and I've been on implanon for 4 years now, and last year I had a huge amount of time where I was constantly paranoid that I was pregnant. All the same symptoms, but took half a dozen home pregnancy tests and they all came back negative. Eventually plucked up the courage to go to the Dr, who did a blood test which came back negative.

The reason you probably get the symptoms is because implanon floods your body with hormones. Although no contraceptive is100% effective, this is the most effective aside from complete abstention. Most pregnancies which have occurred despite use of implanon have been because it's been improperly inserted.

I get what feels like a baby kicking (I think - I've never been pregnant), and have done for over a year now. I also lactate and have very few periods, but this is all just hormonal stuff.

If you're really concerned, go to the Dr, but don't worry too much.

Omfg me too!

hi im 19,
i had a 'termination' (through no choice of my own really im too young to have a baby it wouldnt be fair to raise a child without being able to provide for it so yeah) and whilst still on anaesthetic the doctor or nurse - i dont know do i i was knocked out lol - put an implant in for me in my left arm.
After that i had heavy bleeding for weeks after on and off and just a week after i had unprotected sex with my boyfriend, they didnt tell me i wasnt supposed to do this. In fact all they did was give me a bloody leaflet, i know real helpful right.
Anyway, this was at the end of april and i have had my period every other week and unfortunately also an infection which still persisted even with antibiotics The infection did eventually go away but recently i have been spotting inconsistently, like sometimes brownish sometimes pinkish or like clotting and discharge, and have been feeling the same symptoms i had when i was pregnant - nauseua all the time, slight pain in my lower left abdomen, frequent cramping and needing to pee ALL the time lol, my boobs feel slightly bigger, but the most worrying thing for me is that while i was pregnant i remember my bf saying 'woah your stomachs really hard are you sure youre not pregnant?' and ive been feeling my stomach and it is seriously like a ROCK. I dont know about you but when i exercise it is very tender and hurts and it is very swollen as well (probably doesnt help that its always growling its like a neverending pit of starvation LOL)

I'm too scared to take a test because of what i might find....but ive read through these forums and a lot of people are saying that they have or know someone who is pregnant even while on this bullshit product. 99.9% effective my ass!!! Also people are saying theyve had the same symptoms but when taking tests they come out negative, som i am wondering if i should ask the doctor to test my blood and if that doesnt work i should probably get the damn thing removed (ughhh needles make me so queasy *cries*) and get tested again. It really SUCKS that i will be starting uni this year and have JUST broken up with my bf and if i am pregnant right now i will seriously just have a mental breakdown =(

Take my advice hun you should do the same....theres a lot of good advice on here so take it.... i really thought this thing was invincible but after seeing how many women get pregnant even after having it in, it just shows nothing is fullproof.
Good luck anyway =)

Hiya lozmega.

No contraceptive is 100 percent. Although the chances of falling pregnant are very low. As for your syptoms I would try not to worry. If you think you maybe pregnant then you can always do a test. The implant can take a few months to sort out your hormones. If you are really concerned then see your GP.
