How hard did you find getting started breastfeeding?

For something that's supposed to be so natural, we really couldn't believe how hard it was getting started with breastfeeding. We had problems with getting a proper latch, milk supply and clogged ducts. My sister also had supply issues.

I'm so glad we persevered though and are still at it 4 months later. I just got over a cold and DD really didn't seem to suffer at all thanks to the antibodies.

Latching on is soo important

The latching on of the baby is soo important. I would hardly know Im feeding Grace and have been like that from word go. I was shown how to latch on by the BF specialist in the hospital so that gave me a great help. If there is any pain then baby is not latched on properly....take baby off and start again and remember to be patient and calm.
