Feeding in public

I always used to find it difficult to feed in public at first, always thought someone was going to come up and tell me off, after a while that went away as I got confident. I found that I needed to buy some <a ="http://www.milkbug.co.uk>nursing clothes</a> - not too many as this really made it comfortable for me. I found milkbug.co.uk online and the prices werent so bad - what have other found? Expresing or reducing the hours they are out and about?

"feeding in public"

what exactly do they sell at this sight i don't get it is it like blankets to cover you, breast milk dispensers. i don't get it, and i don't think any women should be embarrassed to feed in public after all that is what our breast are for.

Breastfeeding tops

I bought few from http://www.breast-feeding-tops.co.uk they have fab styles with vibrant colours. With a Christmas sale where they are offering 50% - 20% off on few tops is definately a good catch .

Recently they have launched a sister site for breastfeeding mothers www.breast-feeding-bras.co.uk which offer special introductory price on Emma Jane bra.

Great solution for feeding in publc!

I am pregnant with my third child now, and I always had the problem you mentioned, of so called "indecent exposure" while publicly breastfeeding. Well, I found the best solution! A friend of mine gave me the Peek-a-boo maternity/breastfeeding shirt, which I now wear really comfortably on my big bump, and in a little while, I will be able to use the same, comfy shirt to discreetly breastfeed. It has two layers on the breast area, so you can get to your bra without having to show everyone what's happening under your shirt. There is also a cute little duck drawing in the inner part, so you will be able to remember which side you fed from last. The material is amazing, soft and comfortable, and it has a special design that after I give birth, my tummy won't look like an empty pouch...I saw this on a breastfeeding mom, and you actually can look fashionable, sexy and discreet! I already gave a few as gifts to new moms myself, and they can't thank me enough! Can be found at: www.studio-peekaboo.com. Enjoy!

Breastfeeding tops

The Peek-a-boo tops are just brilliant, and are available in the UK from www.bellamama.co.uk

Bella Mama have Peek-a-boo vest tops (very versatile as can be used under a jumper/cardigan) as well as longer sleeved tops in the same design. As Sigal4 said, the tops are really comfortable whilst pregnant, as well as very flattering. The side ruching expands to cover your tummy, and then is great afterwards for hiding new mum tum! Breastfeeding is very simple as the top is so well designed.

Stylish nursing tops

I got few from http://www.breast-feeding-tops.co.uk

Its of top quality with excellent service. The tops are so stylish and comfortable that I bet you can use later without realising the purpose it was bought for.

You certainly deserve to look the best so why not now!!

Be proud!

I feed my littlin all the time in public....restaurants...shops etc...havent done it in church yet mind you!lol The way I look at it baby needs feed so I have to feed her...tough luck if anyone is offened...it isnt like Im popping the boob out on the table I try to do it discretely...but sometimes its easier than others. Luckily Im not too self conscious!lol

I havent bought any bf clothes...usually I just wear a two piece or I have found a wee vest top underneath my shirt/top helps as my back and tummy is covered.

Good luck and be proud!

Thanx

Thanx for the tip on the vest underneith a top, I have a 4 week old daughter who I am currently BF, I have two children but with my youngest it is the first time for me as a BF mother, and have been so embarresd to feed her in public because the first time I did (in Asda cafe, covered by a shawl) an older couple looked at me descraced and the older man shook his head in shame! Since then I have kept myself indoors just to feed her. I love the fact that your soooo confident to feed your bby outside!

Anyway thanks for the tip bout the vest, i will try it and see if I can get my confidence boosted lol
Out of intrest did you have any bad experiances outdoors, n how did you handle it, if u dont mind me asking?

Breastfeeding in public

I've fed all my kids in public, just have a shawl to drape over your shoulders if you find it a bit embarrassing I never bothered as I would have told anyone exactly where to go. Only problem I had was old man on train kept tutting so I unlatched baby and squirted him - direct hit all down his suit!!! Trouble is my youngest is eleven so perhaps I'm out of touch with what its like now?

Good luck

I

have never had anyone say anything bad to me when breastfeeding in public. With most normal clothes it is easy to feed discretely and using a cover has increased the variety of tops I can wear too. (www.sweetweebairn.co.uk)These are purpose made aprons for feeding but a normal apron could do the job too.

I had the cover as a gift and have used it a few times but I don't think breastfeeding mothers should feel the need to hide away unless they are uncomfortable. Breastfeeding in entirely natural and you should be able to do it anywhere.
