My 2 1/2 year old has bad eczema it is all over her body.
We have tried all creams, bath stuff and doctors etc.
She wakes 3-5 times a night I think because of her itching. What can you do. Any ideas.

My 4 month old has bad eczema on his chest too.I tried all the creams from the doctor, aqueous creams etc but they didnt clear it up at all.My friend used Dream Cream from LUSH on her child but when i bought it i didnt like the smell, almost like it was too perfumed. However i gave it a whirl as i was pretty desperate and i have to say its pretty amazing! Did a much better job than anything else ive used anyway. Also Aveeno products have got a great reputation too.Might try those aswell.xxx
"Dairy free"

I have tried everything to clear my 4 month old babys eczema and after a bit of research in the family history i found that dairy was a main factor in the development of the eczema so after discussions with the h.v. we decided to change his formula to nutramigen 1, a completely dairy free formula milk. after weaning him onto it, within 2 days my babys skin had already shown vast improvement and within a week the eczema had gone completely. my baby is now 7 months and has a completely dairy free diet so hopefully he will grow out of it. it is a controversial subject that dairy products have anything to do with eczema but in my case it has worked, no more scratching and soreness! my advice is if all else fails the try altering their diet as you never know, and hopefully, if you catch it early they will be able to build up better resistance and therefore it may never get extreme or you may clear it completely!

I can help, I've helped many mothers and babies including my son, he had really bad eczema on his chest and thanks to a dear friend who does aromatherapy, she helped me out and told me oils and stuff that I could use and I have come up with a balm/butter that helps.
If you are interested then please drop me a line, I'll be glad to help.

You need to use a natural remedy. I went through the same thing myself as well as my son. I use Aloe & Marigold from a brand called KuK Organics and it works wonders. Its a bit pricey but considering the amount of money I spent trying to use all those chemicals and medicines before, it's well worth it.

AND my skin isnt getting damaged.

The site is www.kukorganics.co.uk

Or you can google KuK Organics

Hi Jen,

I have a four year old son who had eczema from when he was 3 months till he was one year old. I know what you and your daughter are going through, and it so difficult to just sit there and watch them suffer knowing there is not much you can do for them. I used to use a product call "Gentle Naturals" eczema cream though i do not know if it is not available in the UK. It helped sooth the itching a bit, but you have to apply it to the skin right after her bath, make sure she soaks for about 30 minutes so the skin becomes well hydrated, pat her dry with a towel and right away apply the cream. There was also one other product a prescription med. called nirosone, ask your doctor. I truly hope your little girl gets well, I wouldn't wish eczema on anyone.
take care

"New effective treatment for eczema"
Posted by alomastro 29 February  at  14:55

I have suffered from embarassing and stratchy eczema on my hands and face for 9 years. Two weeks ago I started using a new product and already my skin doesn't feel tight or rough any more, I didn't think it was possible for it to look nearly normal again. The product ( from America ) is called Transfer Factor Plus Tri Factor Formula and it is made using molecules that are naturally present in cow colostrum and egg yolk, which help to boost your immune system. It sounds a little weird but it works so who cares! You just take 3 capsules a day with water ( but you can also take it in liquid form or use a cream ). This is the only natural and genuinely effective product that I tried and belief me I have tried loads! I am promoting it so strongly because I know first hand how distressing eczema can be in your life. Please e-mail me to find out more and give it a try. Anna alomastro@yahoo.co.uk
"Possible cures..."

If he drink's milk, change it to goats milk, worked with mine. although they didn't have it severe. my friend's doc put their daughter on steroids she had it severe she was a red bloody rash, constantly scratching bless her. the docs warned her she will put on weight but as soon as she went on them she did put on weight but also lost the eczema, when she came off the steroids she lost all the weight and is cured, so i think it depends on how bad it is, and what type of eczema it is.

"Eczema"

Hi,

My son is 15 months old today. He has had terribly stubborn eczema since he was 2 months old (inherited from me) - at that age I had to take him to the hospital beacuse it became infected and resulted in a seriously high temperature and his face had to be wrapped in moist bandages. He now has a more moderate affliction but even so it often flares becoming itchy, dry, sore and bleeds, especially when he's teething, or has a cold or such.

At first I tried the more homeopathic methods, camomile tea in his bath, algoo (seaweed-yuk!), porridge paste, none of these worked for us.

I have used everything that the doctor has given me, aqueous cream (as a soap and cream), coal tar shampoo, oilatum, hydrocortisone cream, diprobase, eumovate steroid, so many i can't remember them all, and it has become a bit of a labour, but by using a cocktail of the eumovate/hydrocortisone mixed in with the diprobase worked the best. also, try massaging olive oil (not baby oil) into wet skin after bathing, and letting ur little one run around with no clothes on for while.

For the itching, beacuse let's face it, is the root of the problem, we use piriton at nights when he's not so bad, and phenergan when it is severs. These contain a mild sedative aiding sleep, plus an anti-inflammatory.

I hope this helps, remember that there is no cure, and if there was something that worked for everyone we'd all be much happier, but i'm afraid it's a case of trial and error,

good luck,

ellie and a little less itchy finlay

BOTH OF MY BUYS GET ECZEMA REALLY BAD ALL OVER. IT COVERS THEIR WHOLE BODY! I STARTED USING AVENO BABY PRODUCTS ON THEM. TRY USING THE 24 HR MOISTERIZER FOR ECZEMA. SEEMS TO WORK REALLY WELL. IF THEY HAV AN OUT BREAK IT USUALLY TAKES 2 DAY FOR IT TO BE COMPLETELY GONE. AND IF I KEEP UP ON IT TWICE A DAY, THEY NEVER GET IT QUITE AS BAD. HOPE THIS HELPS! DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER SUGESTIONS?

Well here is what I have been told from a skin doctor 2 days ago.
Use damp cotton pjs and put a dry pair over top.
Use 2 capfuls of Janola in the bath if it is infected or an oatmeal bath substance.
Sounds strange but I am going to give it ago.
Will let you know. Try it and let me know.

Hi jen i also have a 2 1/2 year old girl who suffers from eczema its used to be really bad until i found this cream called AQUEOUS CREAM B.P. I brought it from asda (havent seen it anywhere else) and it really works. I must admit she still's has little bit's here and there but not half as bad as it was. I put it on when she get's changed on a mornin and after her bath before bed, also try using oliamatem in her bath just to help. As for the bedtime thing, try not to dress her in to much clothes when she goes to bed, try putting a nightie on her instead so it doesnt irritate her so much.

I already use Aqueous Cream have for a while now. I am now using it 3 times a day, well trying to.
She will only wear a nightie to bed, this gives her full skin to itch thats half the problem.
Thanks for your reply.

Hi,
My 3 1/2 year old son has had eczema behind his elbows and knees his whole life, and I tried literally everything! Even cortisone cream from the doctor didn't work.
The other day I did a search on the internet and found a product that was natural, reasonably priced, and guaranteed, so I gave it a go.
It is amazing! His eczema was non existant within two days! He slept through the night for the first time without itching! He didnt jump out of the bath because the water was stinging him.
It is truly wonderful, and I just wanted to share it, as I know how frustrating it can be to not find anything to help ease their itching.
Unfortunately, I am in Australia so this product is from Australia, but I thought if you were desperate you might try it anyway. It is the Lavender balm from David hoskings pharmacy, www.hoskingspharmacy.com.au
Good luck!
