I need help in potty training area.

Hi I am Jennifer and my little girl will be 17 months on the 25 of January. Her name is Nacayla.I was told that when they started waking up with a dry diaper is when they need to be introduced to the potty.I have another problem her daddy got her wanting to go to bed with a sippie,I know I had part in that to but,it seems that she will never wake up with a dry diaper. So how would I go about the potty training.

Potty training

MY SON IS 20 MONTHS AND WHEN HE WAS 15 MONTHS OLD I STARTED TAKING HIM AND SITTING HIM ON THE BABY POTTY WHEN EVER IT LOOKED LIKE HE WAS GOING. I LEFT HIS DIAPER ON AND EVERYTHING, IT WOULD JUST BE FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES. AND THEN AS HE GOT A LITTLE OLDER, I DID THE SAME THING BUT WITH HIS DIAPER OFF AND I TOOK HIM TO GO POTTY BEFORE BED AND WHEN EVER HE NEEDED A DIAPER CHANGE. THIS SEEMS TO BE WORKING WELL BECAUSE WE HAVE ONLY BEEN DOING IT FOR 5 MONTHS AND HE IS GRABBING MY HAND AND LEADING ME TO THE POTTY AND PULLING AT HIS PANTS WHEN EVER HE HAS TO GO! I AM SO EXCITED. MY SISTER WHO IS THE MOTHER OF 4 AGES 7 TO 1, SAID IT BEST TO REALLY START ENFORCING POTTY TRAINING WHEN THEY CAN LIST 5 BODY PARTS AND TELL YOU THEY HAVE TO GO. NOW MY SON CANT TALK BUT HE SEEMS TO BE GETTING THE HANFS OF IT WELL. I THINK IT DEPENDS ON THE CHILD. I DONT EXPECT MY SON TO BE POTTY TRAINED REALLY SOON AND I DONT PUSH HIM BECAUSE I KNOW THAT HE IS STILL SO YOUNG ( MOST KIDS ARENT POTTY TRAINED UNTIL THEY ARE BETWEEN 3 AND 41/2 ). ANOTHER THING THAT MIGHT HELP IS IF SHE HAS A LITTLE POTTY AND YOU PUT NEXT TO THE BIG POTTY AND "GO" WITH HER. HOPES THIS HELPS!!

Potty training advice

I'm only 12 but i stay in my church nursery a lot. but what i would do is when you take him to the bathroom tell him how good he is doing and that your so proud of him even give him treats when he goes to the bathroom. i hope this is helpful to you. Bye
