My 2 year old wont stop swearing any advice??

Hi there,

About 2 months ago,i was out with my 2 year old and there was this young lad on the bus and he was swearing a lot on his phone, Luckily i was getting off the bus anyway, but ever since my 2 year old wont stop saying the word 'Fu*king. It is really embarrasing when we go out now because he constantly uses that word. I have tried shouting and explaining that it is a naughty word and we do not say it, but he has not listened and still uses it, any advice please because its driving me crazy as he starts nursery next year and i am scared he will not have grown out of saying it.

Thanks..

Similar problem

My partners 2 year old has just started saying the word "Fu*king" but scarily in context! we were stunned when she first did it but now we just ignore her, we found everytime we explained that it was naughty she just said it more and thought she was being funny or grown up.
The more fuss we make of her when she says naughty things, the more she does it and i don't know if we are goin the right way about it but it has seemed to work for us.

Soap and water.......

My Son is nearly 4 so he understands what words are naughty words and knows he shudnt say them. Last time he swore i put a tiny bit of soap on my finger and rubbed it in his mouth. I warned him about this lots of times and only did it as he continued to say the words.

I dont now whether at 2 years old they really understand what they are saying, but if i was you i'd give him a few warnings then try sum soap. It wont kill him.

Hi there

I know this sounds harsh & a bit of a cliche, but I personally would wash his mouth out with soap - literally. Try this a few times (not for long each time) & see if that does the trick. It did my older brothers no harm & taught me not to swear as I saw the consequenses.

Good luck x
