Eating problems

Hi all

im new to this section of sofeminine so hello!

i have a 2 yr old boy who has always been on the "heavy" side..he's been around 95th percentile in terms of weight and height since he was born.

Despite him absolutely loving fruit i cant get him to eat meat!

he lives on pasta fruit and yoghurts and kind of at a loss as to how i get him to eat meat.

is he just a fussy eater or can i change this?

any tips/advice welcome!!

thanks all x

Forgot to say...

He also refuses point blank to try a lot of food such as pasta, potatoes. I offer them to him all the time. He just says no i dont like them. I cud try for an hour to perusade him to try but he wont. So now i'll offer him something he wudnt normally eat and if he says no then i just say ok fine and move on.

Mines the same

My Son is 4 in Nov. He never eats meals. He always has breakfast but then throughout the day he just snacks. Even if i dont allow him to hav anythin between breakfast and lunch or lunch and tea, he still doesnt eat the meal i put in front of him and will go without. I make sure he doesnt just eat crap. He has lots of fruit, yogurt, carrot sticks, cucmber, slices of ham, toast, fruit bread, pizza, smilies, all sorts of foods and drinks milk, cordial and fruit juice, and his height, weight and health are fine.

I used to fret about this all the time, but ended up gettin into a state. In the end i thought if he's healthy then he must be gettin what he needs. Its pointless forcing a child to eat a meal, so i'm just going with the flow and hoping he will improve with age. I just make sure that he doesnt just eat crisps and busicuits etc. I make sure he gets fruit and veg and meat in there too, even if it is just in dribs and drabs and not as part of a meal!!

Hi there

fo the last year my son has also had "eating problems.he would only eat crisps, yogurt, bread+biscuits.i became so worried about him that i asked a specialized group(called EATING MATTERS)to come into my home and record what he ate,how he ate where he ate'filmed our family mealtimes +tested him to make sure he was getting all nutrients/vitamins.all of this was quite stressful! the answer=my son is a happy, healthy(has all the body needs to grow properly)5year old boy who is a fussy eater! lolanyway since EATING MATTERS came we have continued to give my son to new foods, not pushed him to eat it but given huge praise when he has tried it-8months on and he now eats what he ate before+marmite, peanut, butter,s ultanas,apples,banan-as,peas,s auages and fish fingers!so all is well.hope this helps. X
