Teenage son

Hi,

I have 4 children - all are different in behaviour to one another. My 13 year old son, decides last Dec to take alcohol into school and gets suspended for 3 days, since then he's had no end of detentions, disrupts the classes he is in, plays truant and is constantly being grounded.

Both myself and his father work full time and his father is a shift worker and it appears as soon as his dad is on a late shift and goes off to work, he will creep out even though he is grounded. The other night we locked him out as we feel that he doesn't give a toss about anything even his family. I have thought of putting him into a home as I am not sure what to do anymore.

Has anyone got any suggestions??????

Sounds like your having a time of it with your teenager and you are not alone, plenty of parents feel the same way as you do.

I've done parenting courses in the past which have helped me with my kid (he is younger but still a pain in the butt sometimes) I also teach parenting skills where a group of us meet to discuss just what bloody hard work it is being a parent. Have a look on www.triplep.net there may be some ideas on there, failing that there are also parentline plus who may be able to give advice.
