I have lost 3 stone since having my second child, and would like to lose another 3 but am starting to overeat again so I want to break the cycle, and start cambridge diet next week otherwise before I know it I will be another stone heavier. I have found the food addiction books helpful as they bring home the fact that you have a problem with food that needs to be tackled, and so there is no room for self-denial. Now I know where I want to be and it may take a long time to get there I will get there, that's my new outlook, then I do not feel like a failure, I have just suffered a few setbacks, and who was it that said you cannot have success without overcoming failures.
