Newbie here...three stones to loose!

Hope I I have posted in the correct manner and forum - have to admit I am so desperate to loose weight I have signed up and jumped in with both feet!.
Just wanted to indroduce myself. Im Stacey. I have three stone to loose. I am 5'3'' and currently weigh 12 stone. I was 9 stone when I was at my fittest and happiest. I am thinking I am going to do low carbing as this seemed to work before?!?! However now I am happliy married and there is no wedding dress to get into, am I being realistic? Should I opt for a different diet?

Any feedback much appreciated...

Hey

I know that desperatioin, and having read the forums re:weight loss on here, I feel quite sad. I have 3 children and lost 40 lbs in 2.5 months (3 years ago and it has never returned) after going from unhealthy vegetarian eating only minimal high calorific foods to healthy vegan eating tons of healthy food.

I eat as much as I want, but what I eat is usually veggies/brown rice/beans. Very filling and tasty when made right. Let me tell you, you can fill up an awful lot with veggies totalling even only 1000 calories (which is also what my daily inbtake is and I am always stuffed!).

I can't believe all this crap I am reading about, e.g, what the hell is an oxo cube diet? That will never work, and if so, maybe it will for a week, but then what?

Don't go low carbing either; indeed veggies ARE carbs (unrefined healthy ones). If anything, cut down on fat. Don't have marg and don't add fats when frying either. That's a good start. Another good starting point is to just give up sugar. Sounds extreme to most people I guess, but it's really very bad for one trying to cut down on weight. Oh and alcohol? Forget it. Well , maybe occasionally

I feel like bringing you girls to live with me for a month, just to show you 'the magic' as it were about how to eat lots and never have weight issues ever again.

Please don't feel desperate, but please do try to be realistic about your diet, and don't go for anything faddy, because it will never work.

I really wish I could allow you to experience the life I have since I changed my diet completely. It's just so easy, and so much more easy than all these weird diets I am reading about on here, that just sound mad!

I am so healthy now, not just slim, but healthy and much better looking than before lol. I will help in any way I can, just say the word. You don't need to join any dieting club or eat any strange combination of foods for 2 weeks to be healthy and slim!

When I was losing, I literally weighed myself everyday, and effortlessly (it really was), I was losing ounces EVERYDAY. I even recorded them and turned my data into a graph, I was so amazed!

Message me if you want any more advice on the way I eat X

Hi stacey....

Hi Stacey.
I gained four stone while ill and managed to lose three stone last year by careful eating and lots of exercise.
I wouldn't say I dieted as I still eat all the foods I used to (even eat chocolate now and then) and keep my calorie intake to about 1800 daily.
I do do lots of exercise both at the gym and at home. Althoug I am still a stone heavier then before my weight gain my size is just about the same. I was a 12 before I became ill then I went to a size 20 and am now I'm a12/14.
I put this down to carrying more muscle. By muscle I don't mean I have huge muscles but I am more toned.

I did try the low carb diet but was constantly tired and felt dreadful. As soon as I stopped the weight went back on.
I really feel confident I will keep the weight off this time due to the fact I have changed my way of life and am not dieting. If I'm not dieting I can't stop dieting and go back to my old eating habbits.

I think the main thing when dieting is not to cut back to much and don't try and lose huge amounts at once. Take your time and be realistic.

I'm here if you ever want to chat.
Good luck.
