Im 40 weigh 19 stone just found out i have got to have a hysterectomy

I really want to lose weight I am feeling so fed up. I lost 5 stone then put it all back on. I have recently found out I need a hysterectomy, what is the best diet ? I have asthma too so i can really only do weight bearing exercise ie walking.
